DIDDLY DUM PODCAST 037 - Podcasters Assemble
Diddly Dum PodcastThis week we let Hayden loose again with the Diddly Dum microphone. This time he’s chatting to fellow Doctor Who podcasters.
Rob (Brave Heart) Irwin of the Who Wars Podcast tells of trying to please both Doctor Who and Star Wars fans. Steven (No Less) Schapansky of Radio Free Skaro recalls the day he was cured of stage fright. Toby (For it is he) Hadoke of the Who’s Round podcast reveals his underhand use of Coronation Street to manipulate Russell T Davies into undertaking his mammoth and still not finished) interview. J R (Sorry you were out) Southall of the Blue Box Podcast asserts that our own Doc Whom struck lucky twice. Doc himself was fortunately not within reach of a microphone to dispute this claim.
Along the way, we find out what constitutes a cool photo with Tom Baker, Hayden relates his meeting with Peter Capaldi and reveals which director sent him scurrying behind the sofa in fear when he was interviewed by hockey fans, and residents of EX postcodes discover why Doctor Who was responsible for their post being delivered late.

We’ve mentioned this over and over again, but for an account of how this season and its finale came to be, there’s no better place to go than Russell T Davies and Ben Cook’s The Writer’s Tale: The Final Chapter. It’s illustrated with cartoons by RTD himself, including his original conception of the Shadow Proclamation, and his headcanon explanation of Harriet Jones’s daring escape from the Daleks. An absolute must-read.

TDP 694: #DoctorWho Main Range 227 HIGH COST OF PARKING from @BigFinish
Tin Dog Podcast@TinDogPodcast reviews The planet Dashrah is a world of exceptional beauty. Historical ruins; colourful skies; swirling sunsets... Unsurprisingly, it's a major tourist trap. So if you want to visit Dashrah, first you'll have to visit Parking, the artificial planetoid that Galactic Heritage built next door. Parking, as its name implies, is a spaceship park. A huge spaceship park. A huge, enormous spaceship park. When the TARDIS materialises in Parking's Northern Hemisphere, the Doctor, Ace and Mel envisage a quick teleport trip to the surface of Dashrah. But they've reckoned without the superzealous Wardens, and their robotic servitors... the sect of the Free Parkers, who wage war against the Wardens... the spontaneously combusting spaceships... and the terrifying secret that lies at the lowest of Parking's lower levels. Written By: John Dorney Directed By: Ken Bentley Cast Sylvester McCoy (The Doctor), Sophie Aldred (Ace), Bonnie Langford (Mel Bush), Gabrielle Glaister (Cowley), Hywel Morgan (Kempton/ Tribesman), Kate Duchene (Regina/ Seraphim), Leighton Pugh (Fulton), Jack Monaghan (Dunne/ Selfdrive), James Joyce (Robowardens). Producer David Richardson Script Editor Alan Barnes Executive Producers Jason Haigh-Ellery and Nicholas Briggs This title was released in July 2017. It will be exclusively available to buy from the BF website until August 31st 2017, and on general sale after this date.

Mr Smith’s Fanfare Is Diegetic
Flight Through Entirety: A Doctor Who PodcastThis week, Nathan, James, Todd and Peter sit in our separate homes, longing for an invasion where the aliens order us all to congregate in the street together. Which is what happens, of course, in The Stolen Earth.
Notes and links
We’ve mentioned this over and over again, but for an account of how this season and its finale came to be, there’s no better place to go than Russell T Davies and Ben Cook’s The Writer’s Tale: The Final Chapter. It’s illustrated with cartoons by RTD himself, including his original conception of the Shadow Proclamation, and his headcanon explanation of Harriet Jones’s daring escape from the Daleks. An absolute must-read.

Nathan is on Twitter as @nathanbottomley, James is @ohjamessellwood, Todd is @toddbeilby, and Peter is nowhere at all. The Flight Through Entirety theme was arranged by Cameron Lam, and the strings performance was by Jane Aubourg. You can follow the podcast on Twitter at @FTEpodcast.
We’re also on Facebook, and you can check out our website at flightthroughentirety.com. Please consider rating or reviewing us on iTunes, or we’ll Zoombomb your next departmental meeting and flirt outrageously with your boss.

Our James Bond commentary podcast is called Bondfinger, and you can find that at bondfinger.com, at @bondfingercast on Twitter, on Apple Podcasts, and everywhere else as well. In our most recent episode, we again commemorate Honor Blackman by watching her appearance as Ronald Allen’s wife in an episode of Patrick McGoohan’s Danger Man called Colonel Rodriguez.
