SHOW NOTES
(00:09:50) Dalek Two Zero and Roboman who will be at the Rev’s wedding next year can be found here.
(00:35:52) “A butcher’s” is short for “Butcher’s Hook” which is Cockney rhyming slang for “a look”. So “I had a butcher’s at” means “I had a look at”.
(00:38:16) The ICON/CON picture Mark is referring to can be seen on our Tumblr page here.
(00:56:46) The site we use to find transcripts of all Doctor Whop episodes ASAP is chakoteya.net.
(01:13:35) “The Frame” was a 24-issue fanzine that ran from February 1987 to Spring 1993. It was different from most other fanzines in that its articles tended to focus on production personnel — especially designers — who had previously been ignored by the fan community. It was further significant because its writers went on to publish professional Doctor Who works, some of which re-used the content of The Frame. It was edited and published by David Howe, Mark Stammers and Stephen James Walker. The cover which the Rev refers to here is that of issue 8 which can be seen on our Tumblr page here.

#251 - A Real Mother
Doctor Who: The Metebelis 2An entertaining enough finale, but with big enough plot holes that you could drive a pyramid through. Something went wrong with this season in more ways than one and with Empire of Death, Davies seemed oblivious and tone death to some of the underlying messages his drama was sending. Basically, nothing in it really makes sense, and many of the story's emotional beats were insensitive or unearned. The opening music is from the soundtrack composed by Murray Gold. The closing music is Johnny "Guitar" Wilson's 1977 song "A Real Mother For Ya". We recorded this episode on 25 June 2024.

Season One (2024) Wrap Show
The Doctor Who ShowAs is traditional after we do a season of hot takes on the podcast, we regroup to discuss the season as a whole. Did some episodes go up or down in our estimation, after the initial hot take viewing? What did the rest of fandom think? How do we feel it went overall? Featuring fantastic contributions from our listeners via X, Facebook, email, Instant Messenger, carrier pigeon, our website, and more, this is our definitive - for now - take on Ncuti Gatwa's first season as the Doctor.
Before then, news from the past month including our thoughts - and the BBCs - on Doctor Who ratings, as well as saying goodbye to legend of the show, William Russell. We also catch up with some classic Doctor Who in the form of the Celestial Toymaker animation, and a re-watch of The Ark. And Rob's really selling off his Doctor Who collection in earnest!

No More F*cks To Give
WHO 37 - A Doctor Who PodcastIt’s been a good four years, but it’s time for this journey to end. JB, Chris and Sean see the current series of “Disney Who” off with a lengthy and rant-filled discussion of “Dot and Bubble”, “Rogue”, “The Legend of Ruby Sunday”, and “Empire of Death”. The podcast will come back now and then with one-off episodes, but this is pretty much the end of the line as far as monthly episodes. But don’t fret, because the fearless three have plans to record a new podcast which will be coming soon to an RSS feed near you. Thank you all for listening.

8.7 Interference Book One: Shock Tactic (EDA 25)
Doctor Who - Pieces of EighthIt's hard for fans today to perhaps gauge how important was for Doctor Who fans in the dying days of the 20th century.
Lawrence Miles's two-part novel was discussed for months afterwards, and even now, still provokes an interesting debate.
We feature range editor Steve Cole, and feature an archive interview with Lawrence Miles, read for us by James Hadwin-Bennett.

Episode 315: Empire of Death OR Freak On A Leash
PodcasticaWell, here we are friends. At the end...of the season (not of everything, don't worry!). The Third Wave of Who (#thirdwavewho) is well underway and we've wrapped our season with Empire of Death! It certainly gave us a lot to chew on and discuss. And while we enjoyed the episode overall, there were some aspects of it that just didn't stick the landing. But the only way out is through, so let's get into it! Programming Note: We're going to take a short summer break and will be back with a new ep July 16th!
