Who's He?This week the lads turn their attention to the Mark Gatiss story The Crimson Horror, the latest in this series of Doctor Who. What will they make of this Victorian romp in deepest, darkest Yorkshire with corpses in the canal and the return of the Paternoster Gang? One thing is for sure though, Paul is Mister Grumpy this week which makes a nice change from Phil!
And in the news this week, a brief summing up of the Who's He? Podcast's trip to the BFI to see The Caves of Androzani, the UK's Doctor Who DVD roster for the remainder of the year, the return of Omega's Tat Corner and a chance for Phil to let rip on those who think fans are being short changed with their percieved lack of Doctor Who content for the 50th Anniversary.

Then, a pleasant bus ride turns into a nightmare when a hole in space threatens the Earth ("Planet of the Dead"). Dan and Mike also discuss two Doctor Who shorts: "Music of the Spheres" and a segment from Tonight's the Night. GSN PODCAST: Scrolls V.2, Chapter 1: New Beginnings
Geek SyndicateScrolls is dead. Long live Scrolls!We've had a hell of a lot of fun burbling away about various topics over the last three years, but its time for a fresh start. The gang are all here still, and the focus of the podcast remains on our favourite genres of books but we've shifted format in an effort to become more listener friendly and provide you with more books worth reading. What does that mean? In a nutshell, we've split the programme into segments and gone out of our way to get contributions from a much wider group of people. Some features will be regular, others will drop in and out as the mood takes us, but our ever constant guide will be the love of and discussion about books. And cake. Obviously.
This first episode kicks off with a general round up of what we're Reading Right Now, including input from our Twitter followers. You can use the hash-tag #RRNow to contribute to this infrequent but ongoing conversation. It doesn't have to be an essay, just let us know what you're reading, who it's by and why you think other listeners would like to read it. Alternatively, if you'd like to submit a longer review, send it to scrolls@hotmail.co.uk and we'll read it out.
Next up is the Author Interview, in which Phil talks with dark fantasist and environmental horror supremo Joseph D'Lacey about his career - past, present and future. If you have an author you would like us to interview in the future, e-mail your suggestions to scrolls@hotmail.co.uk and we'll see what we can do.
We then unveil the results of our first Flash Fiction competition - a monthly challenge open to all-comers. The best three entries are read out, we discuss their merits and choose a winner. Listen out also for next month's challenge. Your deadline will be 8:30 pm, Thursday 16th May. The top three will be published on the Geek Syndicate website each month and the winner will receive a book. Need your fix more regularly? I also can't believe that The Cult (one of my favorite bands) and the song Fire Woman (one of my all time favorite songs) was in my favorite show! As usual we give a bit of news, discuss Journey to the center of the TARDIS (the first episode that we all didn't agree on!) and discuss what episodes we think would be good intro episodes to newcomers.
