Episode LXXXVII: Maximus Pettulian
The TARDIS TavernStudies show that it has been a hell of a long time since we talked about a First Doctor story (see our episode on "The Time Meddler") and even longer since it was an episode about a historical First Doctor story (go way back to one of the hokiest episodes ever of The TARDIS Tavern, in which we pan "The Gunfighters"). So there was no time like the present to review "The Romans", with the First Doctor, Ian, Barbara, and Vickie.
Of course, we can't help but talk about the latest and last installment of Series Seven, "The Name of the Doctor". Oh, my. Like oh, fucking my!
Look for us on Facebook, email us feedback at tardistavern@gmail.com (we'll read it out loud if we're sober enough), and follow Sean on Twitter via @tardistavern. I think Steve can be followed via @tardistaverntit.

057 - Bringing the Hurt
Arrow of TimeThe last episodic outing before Doctor Who’s golden anniversary attempts to answer the oldest question in the universe: “What’s all this, then?” Failing that, it aims to reveal “The Name of the Doctor” and botches that one pretty squarely as well. It finally settles on giving us surprisingly loud Whisper Men and a distinct lack of chair throwing, along with something about what Clara’s deal is? I don’t know, I was distracted by space hair.
Unlike a certain fussy Time Lord, the name of this week’s WhoTube is no secret. YouTube user KatrinDepp brings us “Are you gonna save this one?” all about Clara and

Radio Free Skaro #368 - Iron Pants
Radio Free SkaroIt may be six months until new Doctor Who, but…we've got stats! So, so many stats. Also, Warren gets a lot of facts wrong (as usual), we've invented an exciting new drink called "whiskwee", and for the first time in RFS history, we have a contest to win a DVD box set of Series 7 and The Snowmen! Check our Facebook page on Monday, May 26 for all the details on how you can win these shiny platters of loveliness.
But while you wait to pitch wits against your fellow Whovians, listen to the Torchwood panel from last month's Calgary Expo featuring the brilliant bon mots of John Barrowman, Eve Myles and Gareth David-Lloyd and moderated by Steven. Fun was had! Pants were shed! And swears were uttered, so keep the kid lets away (or wear headphones) as we shred the iTunes "explicit" tag into a million tiny pieces.
Check out the show notes at http:www.radiofreeskaro.com

Only the echoes of my mind
Who's He?Now that the current series of Doctor Who has finished, Phil and Paul return to the Audio Go celebration of 50 years of Doctor Who with a look at the April release of Babblesphere, the 4th Doctors outing in the Desting of The Doctor range. After Phil being disappointed with the 3rd Doctors story, this time round it's Paul's turn to show disappointment in this thinly veiled satire on social media. However, Phil does manage to get in his impression of Lady Bracknell, so a little bit of culture is injected into proceedings. Ok, that's stretching things, I'll admit!!
And in the news this week, more viewing figure stats, Doctor Who wins an award, Phil spits in the face of the Daily Mail and a small piece of DVD news concerning the Ice Warriors.
All together now, "A HANDBAG?!?".
