Waffle On about Bad News and Spinal Tap

Two rock bands, both from the UK (kind of) and both with very metal attitudes. Yes its Bad News from TV's the comic strip and Americas cult classic film This is Spinal Tap coming together in one big old podcast. Both Meds and Kell are big fans of the Comic Strip and also the writing talents of the creators of Spinal Tap and they decided to not just waffle on about one of the films but both of them. The show is packed with musical numbers from both bands and of course your usual waffle on banter.

Just a note a few of the numbers do contain a bit of language and the odd innuendo (and why not we say)

While Tom is entranced with by the Dinosaurs (ON A SPACESHIP!), Louis has numerous grievances to air. Topics of discussion include unlikely coincidences, action figures, and Dazzler. Spoilers abound.

As well as all the news from The Gallifrey Times and the podcast round-up from The Doctor Podcast Alliance, I provide my brief thoughts on what we can expect from tomorrow nights offering 'A Town Called Mercy'. As always enjoy and have a wonderful Friday evening.

‘Ow, my plums.’

Riddell pushed his way through the undergrowth, the thick, verdant leaves of the jungle tugging at his shirt sleeves and the exposed skin beneath. An array of flying insects buzzed ceaselessly around him, drawn by the salty tang of the sweat pooling in the furrows of his forehead and the shifting plain of flesh between his shoulder blades.

And yet the mighty game hunter didn’t move an inch. Despite the irritants, the discomfort, the yearning pain in his thighs, he remained motionless.

She was beautiful.

Less than 15 feet away, the Ood Cast Season 5, Episode 3 stretched its long neck and let out a low, satisfied roar. The beast was clearly at peace.

Vulnerable.

From his hidden perch Riddell could clearly see every inch of his prey. The ferocious looking claws, the parody songs, the review of Dinosaurs on a Spaceship, even the welcome presence of a return appearance by the Littlest Doctor.

He was near enough to see the whites of its eyes … and the hilarious spoof sketches about secondhand dinosaurs, T-Rexes in the bath, killer kestrels & a robotic Laurel & Hardy.

This was his chance. His whole life had led up to this moment.

With a measured exhalation Riddell brought his rifle up to his shoulder and aimed for the heart…

This week we are joined by Dennis Black-and-Asian as we discuss Doctor Who Season 1, Episode 9, “The Empty Child.”

The Doctor's danger fetish leads him and Rose to London, 1941, in the middle of the Blitz as they chase a metal cylinder through the Time Vortex. He meets a group of plucky young British orphans who scrounge to survive in the streets of the city during the air raids. Meanwhile, Rose is swept off her feet and rescued by a devilishly charming and handsome man named Captain Jack Harkness. Investigating the mystery of the creepy, gas mask-wearing Empty Child, the Doctor returns to Albion Hospital where dozens of zombie-like victims have somehow transformed to have gas masks for faces. Rose and Jack find the Doctor just as the zombies wake and begin to close in on them…

There’s a war on and people are getting killed, we better call an Ambulance Chaser.
