A popular phrase this Doctor Who 50th Anniversary weekend. And maybe Jim didn't fancy the visit to Martin's house and all the danger that entailed.

But there was Who to be celebrated and our intrepid podcasters braved crowds, a clergyman and an under-cooked Dalek cake to pay their respects to the venerable Time Lord.

And here's what they made of the veritable (Verity-able?) smorgasbord of Who delights...

The day finally arrived, and the three of us have been on a three day emotional high. But, as we settle down, weary from the journey, we realize that the celebrations go on. The fiftieth anniversary year is not over, it’s only now in full swing.

That being said, it’s time for us to reveal our opinions of the weekend’s goodness, and share our reviews of An Adventure in Space and Time, The Day of the Doctor, and The Five(ish) Doctors Reboot.

And of course, all of your glorious impressions and feedback.

This week we delve into Doc number twelve! Wait. No. Hold on, I’ve got this. This week’s pretty nifty, it’s Doctor Who year fifty! Whether at home or in theaters, in two dimensions or in three, you’re in for a treat with the anniversary special no matter who your favorite Doctor is, as long as it’s Matt Smith or David Tennant. All told, “The Day of the Doctor” is just about as great as it can be considering the obvious exclusion of a certain fantastic actor. I speak, of course, of Bernard Cribbins. I mean, who dropped that ball on that one?

After my first viewing of "The Day of the Doctor," I thought that it was very much in the vein of "The Five Doctors." That can be a mixed blessing: "The Five Doctors" is beloved, and successful in celebrating 20 years of DOCTOR WHO, but not an example of excellent TV drama in its own right. Much as I enjoyed "Day," was I being too hard on it?

The long, long wait is over. Doctor Who celebrated 50 years of thrilling us all with the adventures of a madman with a box in high style, with not only "The Day of the Doctor", but also the stunning "An Adventure in Space and Time" and Peter Davison’s “The Five(ish) Doctors”, a whimsical treat for lovers of both the classic and new series.

Let’s not forget that 94 countries and many movie theatres simulcast "The Day of the Doctor" on Saturday, and for the first time ever the Three Who Rule are able to relay what it felt like to watch a big-screen adventure with the Doctor(s) surrounded by the love of many, many fans cheering and whooping at every twist and turn.

It was indeed a monumental week, but there’s still the Christmas Special and the end of Matt Smith’s run in a month, and next week a special RFS from Chicago TARDIS! Allons-Y, Geronimo, and for God’s Sake, GALLIFREY STANDS!
