TCR 005: The Great Genre Panic
The Cloister RoomIt's back! The Cloister Room bursts back onto the scene for Christmas eve in an episode that has... nothing to do with Christmas at all. Ah well. This week, I take a look at the state of genre television on major networks in the United States, looking at the problems posed by shows like Dollhouse and what the American industry can learn from the UK, and, of course, Doctor Who in particular. Feedback is welcome, and one particular question of interest: if an American actor had to play the Doctor, who would you want it to be? Some thoughts are in the episode, but I'd love to hear your opinion on this and other issues in the comments!

On this show Meds talks with Woody (Simon Wood), Ray (David Ray) and Chris (Chris Powell) all about television ad films shown on British television. Obviously because we are enjoying beers and mince pies the whole show goes off on a complete waffle. We've carefully edited any swear words but please note we do waffle on pretty quickly. Last episode we asked what was Meds and kells combined weight, well the answer was 164kgs and our winner, Katrin from Berlin gave her answer as 163.67kgs so pretty darn close. Here is a picture of our competition winner with her prize of the Stargaxer CD from Rick Moyer ( www.takehimwithyou.com ) and some chocolate from us here at Waffle On which you can buy from ( www.williescarcao.com ) Massive thanks to Woody, Chris and Ray for joining me. Episode 6: Enlightenment at the End of the Tunnel
The TARDIS TavernCarrying on from the last episode, Steve proudly displays one of his favorite -- if not his ultimate favorite! -- episode, "Enlightenment." Steve attempts to enlighten Sean on the story's merits, and Sean generally scratches his head as if it had a dead bird planted on it. Naturally, discussion is made regarding Captain Wrack's rack and the gratuitous use of terrible and immature jokes.
Will Steve persuade Sean to save the Doctor? Or will Sean instead choose enlightenment? All will be revealed...
