041: The Awakening
The Krynoid Podcast"Something is coming to our village... something very wonderful and strange."
So is the Davison two-parter The Awakening "wonderful and strange"?
Well the sets are certainly wonderful and there are some rather strange goings on in Little Hodcombe.
There's a bad-wigged nutter with a tinclavic stress ball, a one-eyed beggar with a penchant for ladies' handbags and Ben Wolsey's infamous Reproduction Room, for starters.
Where does old Big Face keep his body? Would an incredulous guppy make a good companion? And just who is the old fella with the wizened chesticles?
Listen as Jim and Martin awaken their feeble brain cells and try to answer these questions, while distinguishing set from location, real person from projection and, rather more easily, stroppy air hostess from straw May Queen.

Episode 151 - We Don't Want Him to Go
Doctor Who: Verity! It's time to slow down and get a bit reflective. Inspired by Peter Capaldi's "farewell tour" at New York Comic Con, Deb, Lynne, and Tansy take a thoughtful look back at Peter Capaldi's tenure. We discuss the impact he's had on the show, his legacy and examine his character arc as the 12th Doctor. Sure, we know he has one more story before the serious postmortem's begin, but we'd rather do this while we can still smile!
What do you think Peter has brought to the role and, more importantly, what do you think his imprint will be on the show? Leave us a comment and let us know what you think!
^D
Also covered:
- Lynne added Downtime by Dylan Reese to her Doctor Who Library AND a delightful Rory Funko to her AF collection.
- Tansy is (justifiably!) excited about her podcasts Frankentastic and Sheep Might Fly.
- Deb was so delighted by Peter Capaldi at New York Comic Con she made it this week's topic!

049 - The Carnival of Friendly Monsters
Arrow of Time
Forsooth, gentle viewers! This week on the podcast we reflect upon the question: “When is a bad guy not really bad?” (“When it’s ajar” was considered and rejected.) While our views sometimes alternate, on the whole we mirror each other’s feelings. Maybe that hideous eye creature from a parallel universe is just misunderstood. If after the podcast you’re looking to switch things up, why not check out this week’s WhoTube, “Come Sail Away // The Doctor” by user Liisakee: http://youtu.be/dGvfNUkrsBI

#99 Circles spinning out his time
Who's He?This week, Paul & Phil review the latest in the Destiny of The Doctor audio stories, Vengeance Of The Stones featuring the 3rd Doctor. Does this story follow up on the brilliance of Shadow of Death or does it cause Phil and Paul to disagree for the first time in ages? Listen to find out but be warned: Scottish stereotypes are discussed and the word "stones" is used with wanton abandon!
And in the news this week, the air time and a prologue (I refuse to call it a prequel!) for The Bells of Saint John is revealed to waiting fans, filming for the 50th Anniversary special has been pushed back, the tabloids start their typical rumours that Matt Smith is leaving, Peter Jackson will direct an episode of Doctor Who if Steven Moffat gives him a Dalek and in Omega's Tat Corner they return to a piece of tat that they discussed a few episodes back. Blimey, that could've been explained better. Why didn't I put "previously on Omega's Tat Corner" instead? Really need to get a proof reader for this rubbish.

Circles spinning out his time
Who's He?This week, Paul & Phil review the latest in the Destiny of The Doctor audio stories, Vengeance Of The Stones featuring the 3rd Doctor.

PodKast with a WriterCon!
Kasterborous Podkast
Hi there, Kasterborites! Welcome to this week’s exciting podKast (with a “K”) in which we cover everything from crappy PR statements that talk down to us to fielding questions for a coming chat with a Doctor Who scriptwriting prodigy…But don’t let any of that disturb you from your baked beans and chips, your soap operas and your wooly jumpers.
Instead, we’ll leave you wishing that you too could be attending an event featuring Terrance Dicks, Philip Martin, Andrew Smith and Keith Temple, in which the guests talk about their most popular episodes, interspersed with clips and fielding questions from the adoring audience.
Yes, next Sunday is Vworp 5:Writercon, so along with our chat about the shock resignation of Caro Skinner as Doctor Who Executive Producer and the recent Series 7b press launch, we’ll be talking to Gareth Kavanagh, organiser of the event!
How will you be listening? There are three options for you to enjoy the podKast!
- Use the player in the top right of the Kasterborous home page, or visit the podKast menu link.
- Listen with the "pop out" player above, which also allows you to download the podKast to your computer.
- You can also take advantage of the RSS feed to subscribe to the podKast for your media player, and even find us on iTunes!
Incidentally, if you are listening on iTunes, please take the time to leave a rating and review and help us to bring in new listeners to the podKast! We are now offering a year’s worth of podKasts dedicated to you.
Yes, dear listener – you. What other podcast would give you that?

Episode 78: The Potpourri Episode (With Daphne Ashbrook!)
The TARDIS Tavernpot-pour-ri po-pu-‘re n [F pot pourri, lit. rotten pot] 1 : a jar of flower petals and spices used for scent 2 : a miscellaneous collection : MEDLEY
No, this isn’t the flower show episode. Rather, as promised, we give you a quick review of the video game Doctor Who: The Eternity Clock, some discussion about the upcoming second-half of Series Seven, and (we haven’t brought you one of these in a while) an interview with Daphne Ashbrook, star of the 1996 TV movie.
Special thanks to our own roving reporter Andre Tessier for interviewing Ms. Ashbrook at this year’s Gallifrey convention. (Or was it from last year? We were too drunk to tell.)
Send happy thoughts to tardistavern@gmail.com, “like” us on Facebook for free pie, and follow Sean on Twitter via @tardistavern.
