The reviewing duo of Phil and Paul press on with the next phase of their retrospective with a look at the first of the 2009 Specials, Planet Of The Dead. This is a most divisive podcast and Paul rather enjoys it and Phil detests it but all this makes Phil wax lyrical about the rich tapestry of the human race but veers dangerously close to one those awful episodes of Star Trek: The Next Generation where Data explores what it's like to be human.

And in the news this week, series 7 casting news, the end of the Adventure Games and Doctor Who tat.

And in the news this week, more guests for confirmed for the Doctor Who Convention in March, series 7 production news and fan slash fiction has become legit. Tis the season to be jolly!!  Well, not really to be honest but there is a lot of snow on the ground, so it's a good time for Paul and Phil to have a look back at A Christmas Carol, the 2010 Christmas special.  Fortunately after over a year, they both still really enjoy this festive offering and Phil tries to make connections to M.R. James Christmas ghost stories and The Eagle comic while Paul insists that they try their hardest not to pick holes in the story.

Meanwhile, in the news, writers and directors are confirmed for series 7, guest news for the Doctor Who convention, some Doctor Who tat and Phil plugs other podcasts.

After last weeks show, the lads are back in their comfort zone with their continuation of their series 5 retrospective and this week it's the turn of The Lodger. However, not all went according to plan as they were beset by technical problems, which made each other think their connection had dropped which lead to a bit of confusion. But once things got back on track, they rattled through but couldn't help but keep making comparisions to Closing Time (well, Phil did anyway) and why discovering Matt Smiths comedic talents in this story was a slippery slope for the programme makers.

This week, Paul and Phil take a look back at Cold Blood in the continuation of their retrospective of series 5. However, they are a little distracted this week as shortly before recording, official confirmation came through from the the BBC that two long lost episodes of Doctor Who had been rediscovered. And what with the announcement this week of a Doctor Who game for consoles and the PC, Phil was on cloud nine. Pity then that they had to talk about a bit of a damp squib of a Who story afterwards. It ruined the mood somewhat.

After two weeks of audio commentary, Phil and Paul return to reviewing duties with a look back at The Hungry Earth. However, neither of them can work up much enthusiasm for this story as not a lot really happens apart from some gaping holes in logic. So the result is an underwhelming and rather dull podcast. Sorry folks.

But during this weeks news items, Phil makes his own entertainment by convincing Paul that he's always wanted to keep fish in a Doctor Who themed aquarium.

We also have to apologise for the sound quality in the news section as Phil had his micrphone on the wrong setting. The berk.

Here they discuss whether this story proves that not all two part stories have weak second parts and whether Amy throwing herself at the Doctor does or does not seem out of place in what is essentially a childrens programme. And with the announcement that a clip of this years Christmas special will be on this years Children In Need, Phil wonders why we have to sit through hours of dancing newsreaders to see a couple of minutes of Who? In a long edition of Who's He?, Phil & Paul take a look back and see what they enjoyed and disliked about series 6 of Doctor Who. There's not many laughs to be had as the two of them take this rather seriously and go through the story arc of River Song as they see it and all the standalone episodes one by one. This was made especially difficult for Paul who has....the lurgi!! Yes, this show is unclean and riddled with germs but Paul managed to hold it together and not cough his lungs up and croak it live on air. Though that would have been a podcast first.
