After the shocking events of last week's Day of the Moon, Doctor Who changes gears with the Curse of the Black Spot, a much needed nautical romp on the high seas of 17^th century Earth full of blood-thirsty pirates, a mysterious Syren, and far too little screen-time of Amy Pond dressed as a pirate. As a public service to you, our adoring public, Derek, Eric and Lindsay will determine whether or not this episode is all wet. As well, we will arrive at the definitive answer as to whether or not pirate hats are cool.

Spoilers: they are not.

Doctor Who Cast Episode 4: The Doctor's Wife

The time has finally come! We've waited patiently all week to discuss in-depth episode 4 of Series 6 of Doctor Who, "The Doctor's Wife," penned by the wondrous and amazing Neil Gaiman. This week we are missing our compadre BJ Jackson, but are joined by the lovely (and British!) Jacqui Turner to discuss this monumental episode. Bobby, Brian, Nancy and Jacqui go over their thoughts on the show, as well as read an excerpt from a fan-submitted review, a whole bunch of tweets and try to theorize the mysterious words spoken to Rory at the episode's conclusion. So to those faithfully following or to those catching us anew, sit back, relax, and enjoy Doctor Whocast, the only podcast that also travels in time!

Frobisher's gone. The Computer vanished. Astra's been away forever. And even Destina wants nothing else but to return to Gallifrey, leaving the TARDIS forever, just like the rest of them. Everybody leaves, the Doctor says. And so does he.

But even though the Doctor seeks a quiet retirement in the cast of the West End production of Mary Poppins, the universe doesn't seem to let him escape. Who is the phantom voice plaguing the performers of London's Prince Edward Theatre? What do the evil, alien warlike Persecutors want at the theatre? And will Death finally reveal the reason he has followed the Doctor across the spectrum of space and time?

With an army of alien Persecutors on the doorstep, and a temporal rift opening just off centre stage, now more than ever does Earth need a Doctor. But time has run out - for him and for everyone - and soon he will find out exactly what it means to die on stage...
