An announcement regarding Reality Bomb this February
Reality Bomb - a Doctor Who podcastSorry dear listeners. We've decided we need to take the month of February off.
It was a hard decision but Alex and Graeme are hard at work on another project and their day jobs have been super-busy. With the hiatus on Doctor Who in 2016, we thought this might be a good opportunity to take a break.
But, fear not, we'll be back in March (and Patreon subscribers, we'll be giving you something extra down the road).
Graeme and Alex talk about this a little more in depth in this mini-segment. We'll see you in a few weeks!

Episode 29: Final Destiny
Stories From The Vortex: A Doctor Who Audio Adventures Podcast
After a long and unexpected delay, we present our third and final episode looking at the Destiny Of The Doctor series, co-produced by Big Finish with AudioGo as part of the show's fiftieth anniversary, to review the middle four stories from it covering the fifth through eighth Doctors. Topics discussed include the quality of each of story's respective reader, how each story represents each Doctor's era (perhaps too much so) and some thoughts on the series overall.
Note for listeners: The episode's long delay has been due to a series of unexpected technical issues that were not noticed during the original recording. Attempts have been made to fix these issues in the editing stage. However, listeners may still spot overlaps or occasional changes in sound quality as a result. We apologize for the inconvenience.
You can find the podcast via our website storiesfromthevortex.blogspot.com or on iTunes. If you'd like to send in feedback to the podcast you can do so at feedback.vortex@yahoo.com and you can join the podcasts's Facebook group. We're a proud member of the Doctor Who Podcast Alliance.

Ep 69 - Ace is Ace!
Doctor Who: Verity! This week we focus on one companion--the winner of our Verity! companions poll! Join Deb, Erika, Liz, and Lynne, as we talk about Ace! Our personal feelings about Ace as a companion are mixed, but we all agree (mostly) on her importance as a companion. It's pretty easy to draw a line between Ace and Rose, and we do just that! We also chat a lot about Ace: as compared to other women on screen at the time, as a character to identify with (or not), and as a tuxedo-wearer.
What are your feelings about Ace? Do you love her attitude? Or does she put you off as a viewer? Or something in between? Let us know in the comments!

Big Blue Box Podcast - Episode 78
The Doctor Who Big Blue Box PodcastHey Who fans and welcome to episode 78. Before we fly back to 1966 let’s do the waffle, I mean, er, news…
The News
Titan Comics have announced the date for this year’s Doctor Who Comics Day. That day is Saturday 9th July which is sure to see some events happening all over the place. Last year there was a good event held at Forbidden Planet in London so we’re expecting a similar thing. Go Titan!
According to new figures from the BBC, Doctor Who has come fourth in the top ten most loved show on iPlayer. Yes, apparently there’s a favourite/love/whatever icon within iPlayer which Who fans clearly have been pressing quite a bit. Must remember to do that now.
If you’re heading to the Doctor Who Experience soon you’re in for a treat as a load of new props and other goodies from series 9 are being added for our up-close viewing pleasure. These will be on show from Wednesday 2nd March and if that wasn’t enough, the Tardis Tours are back! Yes, from Saturday 20th February through to Sunday 6th March you’ll be able to set foot on the iconic Tardis set and be like the actual Doctor! Now would be a good time to get your asses to Cardiff.
“The War Machines” Review
We’re visiting the 1st Doctor and those lethal robots in all it’s black and white glory this week. We have a lot of love for Mr Hartnell but does this story stand up in quality to his greatness or are we left to wonder 60’s London, wishing we were back in full colour?
Thank you for stopping by the Tardis and your comments for this week’s review story. Next week is Matt Smith’s Vincent and the Doctor which we’re looking forward to. Remember to follow us on your preferred social channel for the latest updates, tidbits and more waffle. Until then week – Allons-y!

TDP 560: THE CHURCHILL YEARS VOLUME 01
Tin Dog Podcast1. The Oncoming Storm by Phil Mulryne Late 1939. Britain faces the might of Germany. Winston Churchill serves as First Lord of the Admiralty. But Churchill soon finds himself facing a more immediate threat than the looming Nazi menace. A 'Stone' with the most mysterious properties is discovered in the Thames' sands, and soon oddly spoken soldiers are creeping round London ruthlessly trying to acquire it. Who are they? Can Churchill and his new secretary Hetty Warner defeat them? And what about the man in the battered leather jacket that Hetty meets? Churchill feels sure they can rely on the Doctor to help them! Except that this Doctor seems to want to stay hidden in the shadows... 2. Hounded by Alan Barnes In the dark days of 1941, Britain is in the midst of war. Churchill must stand strong against the might of the enemy - but he is plagued by a darkness in his own psyche. Something he calls 'the Black Dog'. Can a visiting Swami hold the answer to his troubles? And can Hetty Warner prevent the Prime Minister's adversaries from taking advantage of the situation? Across London, the Tenth Doctor's arrival may be the nation's only hope - but the Time Lord's plan to help his friend is endangered when he finds himself declared a traitor by the agents of the country he has come to protect... 3. Living History by Justin Richards Finally given the chance to travel in the TARDIS, Winston Churchill cannot resist the opportunity of meeting Julius Caesar. But the trip does not go quite as planned. With the TARDIS gone, and Churchill stranded in ancient Britain with a young man he barely knows and who comes from the future, it seems things can hardly get any worse. Until he is captured by the invading Romans. Still, at least that means Churchill will meet Julius Caesar after all. But then Churchill learns of the Bronze God, feared and worshipped by the Ancient Britons. A god that he recognises as anything but divine when he meets it. 4. The Chartwell Metamorphosis by Ken Bentley Comfortably retired to his home at Chartwell, Churchill plans to live out his days in peace, in the company of his butterflies - if his attendants would just leave him alone. But it isn't simply Lepidoptera breeding in the gardens, as a far more sinister species is about to emerge from its cocoon - and is ready to feast on something more than just the shrubberies. Surrounded on all sides, the former Prime Minister must put a life's worth of experience into action in order to win the day. Can his new nurse Lily Arwell offer her assistance? Commentary #1 - The Eleventh Hour
The Doctor Who Big Blue Box PodcastIt's our first ever commentary show and what better way to kick things off than with a modern classic - The Eleventh Hour.
[powerpress]
We debated for a while on what episode to do for our first commentary and this wasn't actually our first choice (that one's coming very soon). We wanted to do a story from newer Who (you'd all probably get quite bored listening to us comment on a 6-part classic story) and this episode with it's hour long run time seemed perfect. What better episode to pick from the Matt Smith era than his first?
So get your blu ray, dvd or digital file ready, get a cup of tea or coffee and enjoy this great episode with our usual banter to go with it.
Thanks for stopping by for this commentary show. Let us know if you enjoyed this and we'll continue to do them. Also let us know your thoughts on The Eleventh Hour.
Until next time - Allons-y!!!

Doctor Whooch // Episode 082 // Courage and Bullshit
Doctor WhoochIn which Brandon watches the last episode of the Tenth Doctor episodes that he hasn't seen. Probably.
It's the Olympics! Or rather, it's "Fear Her", the 11th episode of series 2. There's a creepy child who draws a dad-satan and has a space flower in her tim-tum! And that's bad. Danica and Brandon are also really, REALLY drunk and say a bunch of things they may or may not regret. Oh well.

episode 91 - Playing Spoons with The Doctor
MarkWHO42 - The Doctor Who PodcastRecently, our showrunner Mark Baumgarten went to a Con. So what you ask? Well, he did not return home empty-handed. No sir. He brought back an interview with the 7th Doctor himself, SYLVESTER MCCOY!!! Yep, you read that right; the 7th Doctor does an interview with Mark. And he didn't come alone. Joining McCoy is Doctor Who guest actor David John, who was in the classic series' final adventure Survival and who played an interesting character named Liam McShane in the audios. And as if the excitement from that wasn't enough, Patrick Hawkins returns and is made a full-fledged member of the WHOniverse crew. That's right. Patrick is now an official member of our cast. A Doctor interview and a new cast member. Can you handle this much awesomeness? CAN YOU???!!!!
