Scrolls Chapter 15: Gods 'n' Sods
Geek SyndicateIn which we step tentatively into the ethereal realm to mull over the function of religion in fictional worlds and how it can mirror our own. Along the way we poke a few holes in the fabric of reality, prod a few demons and deities with sticks to see what thet're made of, make wild and ill-conceived generalisations about how religions begin and, well, generally invite the wrath of the most powerful beings in the universe.
Actually, thinking about it we've already had their wrath reteroactively. Clover is missing for the first bit due to unholy technical difficulties, but there's plenty of waffle(s) to go around. Join us as we hit upon Holy social networking, the most popular reason for time-travel, artistic baby recycling, the function of flab in prehistoric man, alternative uses for disabled toilets and Much, Much more...

Episode 015: Dead of Night/The Five Doctors
Doctor Who: The Raggedy PodcastAs we get deeper into the new series of Torchwood, things are starting to heat up! What will our power trio think about this one? Does Miracle Day finally feel like Torchwood, or is it just another episode that promises but doesn't quite deliver? In the area of classic Who, we take a look at the 20th anniversary special "The Five Doctors," or perhaps more accurately titled "The Four Doctors and Some Unused Footage and Only Sort of Four Because William Hartnell Was Dead." Will Uncle Terry's last script for the televised Doctor Who please, or disappoint? And finally, Ian and Matt take a look at the Big Finish audio "A Thousand Tiny Wings," which sees the return of evil Nazi Klein as she and the Doctor deal with some aliens in Kenya in the middle of the Mau Mau Uprising. There's a lot to chat about, and a bit of silliness for good measure!

if you want to hang out, you've got to take her out...
Who's He?It's audio commentary time!! And this month, Phil & Paul show Tony the delights of Attack Of The Cybermen. Yes, last month they promised him a glimpse of the future Doctor Who style and they bring him 1985! However, Tony was fairly impressed with Peri's cleavage, camp sarcastic Cybermen and the Cryons drugs factory. As usual, Phil set Tony one or two tasks during the coure of the evening and Tony also had the temerity to ask why there are no gold Cybermen. The fool!!

Bigger on the Inside - Episode 69
Bigger on the InsideWith a plot about an alien attempting to eradicate all life on Earth, "The Visitation" is a rather rote Doctor Who story. However, the serial is saved by Richard Mace (AKA Mr. Awesome), who Mike suggests might be related to another one-off companion from one of Tom Baker's most beloved stories. Then, in the two-part "Black Orchid," The Doctor is accused of murder, and a family secret prevents someone from corroborating The Doctor's alibi. Before all that, however, Chris Johnson drops by to deliver a segment that highlights the ups and downs of the recently ended Tom Baker era. (Said segment runs from 8:14 to 48:03.)
