Our spotlight on Classic Doctor Who continues with everyone's favorite Cosmic Hobo, Mr. Patrick Troughton, who took on the role of the Doctor after William Hartnell left the show in 1966. Join Linsay Wood, Eric Mendoza and Derek Gladu as we review the 1968 epic "The Invasion", an eight part serial that until recently, was partially lost to time. We will also talk a little about the BBC's policy of "junking" many of its early television archives; and how Whovians from across the globe rallied to preserve and restore many seminal episodes from Classic Who.

On the review front for this episode Trevor and James look at two classic era DVD releases from 2Entertain – The Awakening and Frontios.  These oft neglected stories from Peter Davison’s final season as the Doctor have been given the DVD treatment and are ready to be appreciated by a whole new generation of fans.

We also take a look at the second episode from the new series of Torchwood, Miracle Day – Rendition.

Also in the show this week are some nice bits of audio feedback we have received recently.  Keep them coming, we love it.

In this weeks episode we double up on Ben Aaronovitch as Matt and Ian take a look at his rather divisive season 26 serial "Battlefield," as well as his similar love-it-or-hate-it cyberpunky Virgin New Adventure novel Transit. Serving as the meat to the proverbial Aaronovitch sandwich is the Big Finish audio "Spare Parts," written by fellow season 26 writer Marc Platt and featuring the Fifth Doctor and Nyssa as they discover the origins of the Mondasian Cybermen. Will the bland Doctor continue to be bland? Will the 80s thing be just too much to handle? and will cyberpunk Doctor Who thrill or leave a bad taste in the mouths of the Raggedy Podcasters? All we be discovered, and more!

Archivist and Chicks Dig Time Lords co-editor Lynne Thomas joins me as we discuss the merits of the frequently-derided first season of Torchwood — thus bucking the conventional wisdom that it only "got good" with Children of Earth. Lynne contributed her essay on the subject, "Camp Noir," to Graeme Burk and Robert Smith?'s anthology Time Unincorporated 3.

Also: Miracle Day Episode 4, "Escape to L.A." is reviewed.

It's a linguistic good time this week on Doctor Whocast, the only podcast that also travels in time!

In a rather argumentative episode, Paul and Phil give their opinions of episode 3 of Torchwood: Miracle Day. Will Phil be happier than he was last week or is it Paul's turn to the dark side? Does the world care? Anyway, they ramble on as normal and Phil makes a rather crass comment about him not having his teeth in. If a podcast could blush, it would be this one.
