104 - The Girl Who Stayed?
Episode Duration: 0 days, 0 hours, 36 minutes and 41 secondsWe’ve put the end of Series 8 and our 100th episode in our metaphorical rearview mirror, and we’re barreling toward “Last Christmas” and Series 9! Or, slowly starting to ramp up speculation, at any rate. So let us take you on a short ride, but it is sure to be elemental and iconic!
This week’s WhoTube is not a WhoTube at all. It is a VortexVimeo called “Doctor Express” made by our very own Matt! http://vimeo.com/34108234
-

We tell you how it all started, our favorite episodes and much much, much more. To add to the fun we officially unveil our new theme song written by the superstar Trock band, Legs Nose Robinson! So get your tour brochures ready as Matt, Joseph, Gabe, and Dave take you on a trip down memory lane, maybe even with a few surprises!
Our WhoTube for this episode is the latest by Legs Nose Robinson, a Trock parody called “Hey Missy” – http://youtu.be/n8dyaN4yW_0

103.5 - Magic Science Water
Episode Duration: 0 days, 0 hours, 58 minutes and 40 secondsHey everyone, The Arrow of Time and a Half is back! Also, so is Kelley! Matt and Kelley Skype it up as they dig deeper into the series 8 finale, as well as series 8 in general. One thing is for sure about digging, the deeper you dig, the bigger holes you uncover, and plenty of holes will be revealed!
Also, for more podcast fun be sure to check out all the Musings of a Geek podcasts here! www.musingsofageek.com

103 - Cybering Danny Pink
Episode Duration: 0 days, 0 hours, 57 minutes and 35 secondsThis week on the Arrow of Time we do a stumble through (literally) of the Doctor Who series 8 finale, “Death In Heaven.” To make this grand finale more grand we decided to double the amount of people on the podcast to a whopping eight! Join Joseph, Matt, Gabe and Dave, as they are joined by Kirby, Conrad, Sean, and the ever delightful Ivan. Was breaking their four person limit a mistake? …Or the BEST decision ever!!! You decide!
For your WhoTube pleasure, check out K9HumpsMyLeg’s endearing send up to the end of the series, “Doctor Who – Death In Heaven/Dark Water – Born To Die” – http://youtu.be/BMDcWfaB57E

102 - Clara Unhinged
Episode Duration: 0 days, 1 hours, 3 minutes and 33 secondsOut of all of the reveals to come from “Dark Water,” the biggest has to be that people don’t know who the master is. They obviously don’t listen to our podcast! If they did, they might even know who the Rani is, and share our disappointment at Moffat’s tendency to reintroduce new things. Still, we don’t have much bad to say about this penultimate episode. And of course, since this story is a two-parter, speculation abounds once more! What will the big finale twist be? Clara is the Doctor? The Doctor is the Master!? Everything is exactly as it seems!?! Yeah, probably.
This week Dave brings us two books for our You Can’t Have Two Books segment, Counter-Clock World by Philip K. Dick and Time’s Arrow by Martin Amis.
And you’ll be in hog heaven with Matt’s WhoTube, “Doctor Who – The 12 Doctors Alternative Trailer #2″ by Takeabow2: http://youtu.be/PsFa_n4s-3s
-
101 - Childrenesque
Episode Duration: 0 days, 1 hours, 7 minutes and 4 secondsJust what we needed, an episode that features one of our “favorite” things, right up there with the production “style” of Steven “Moffat.” “In the Forest of the Night” starts off on the right foot with a William Blake reference, but then quickly becomes full of children, likely with sticky Jammie Dodger hands. There are also lots and lots of trees (at least four), but mostly nothing happens, so we end up speculating wildly about the next episode. Missy is the Rani? The Rani is the Master!? Clara is Handles!?! We’ve got to be right someday!
For Mogli‘s Fantastic Book Break, Dave brings us the obvious once again with Songs of Innocence and of Experience by William Blake. Check it out at Project Gutenberg!
For this week’s spooooky BooTube we have “Doctor Who – Can You Hear Them?” from user 2Scribble: http://youtu.be/-u9KcSKyMZw
-
099 - Out-Moffating Moffat
Episode Duration: 0 days, 1 hours, 19 minutes and 50 secondsThe new guy is two for two! Jamie Mathieson quickly shoots up the Doctor Who episode writing charts with “Flatline!” Sure, this may have one of those this-has-never-happened-before- except-the-time-it-did type situations, but he’s just channeling Moffat. And for all of Stevie-boy’s big talk, Matheison actually delivers monsters that make you run for the back of the couch! The metaphorical couch. In your mind. We don’t own a couch.
Dave’s It’s a Book Dave for this podcast is the obvious one for once, Flatland by Edwin Abbott Abbott. That is not a typo. Check it out at Project Gutenberg!
This week’s WhoTube reaches back all the way to the bygone era of 2006, with Calapine’s “Zombie (a Doctor Who fanvid)” – http://youtu.be/abSzx3O9awA
-
098 - Wait Wait... Don't Kill Me!
Episode Duration: 0 days, 1 hours, 19 minutes and 56 secondsAre you my mummy? Ha ha, no, seriously. I seem to have misplaced it. I think I left it on a train. In space! Hopefully our “Mummy on the Orient Express” podcast will help jog my memory. Let’s see, we’ve got talk of guest stars, an odd disdain for Foxes, herring both red and otherwise, and even some mention of the plot… but nothing about my mummy. Oh well, it always finds its way home after a light killing spree.
This week Dave Has a Book and it is Ticket to Ride by Dennis Potter. [Ed. Note: Insert Harry Potter joke here.]
Our WhoTube is both Who and Tube this week with “Chameleon Circuit – The Big Bang 2 music video” from user willis epic: http://youtu.be/jsFleDHX3G4
-
097 - 99 Problems but the Moon Ain't One
Episode Duration: 0 days, 1 hours, 26 minutes and 57 secondsWho would think that something called “Kill the Moon” would lead to the most contentious episode of the Arrow of Time yet? Thrill as we examine the merits of metaphor! Thrill some more as we dissect sloppy science! Thrill yet again as we debate minutiae most people completely ignore! It’s just like our usual podcasts, but with more yelling!
This week Dave blows up the book Making History: A Novel by Stephen Fry, by which I mean he calmly discusses it.
If you’re looking for one more thrill! our WhoTube is Leon Hughes’s “Doctor Who vs the Universe” – http://youtu.be/M9BUlT_TTHo
-
096 - A Pink Shaped Plot Hole
Episode Duration: 0 days, 1 hours, 18 minutes and 41 secondsSchool is back in session and it’s time yet again to do what any good Time Lord would do… infiltrate the campus under the guise of a member of the faculty or staff (this time it’s staff)! Join Joseph, Matt, Gabe and Dave as they traverse the potential story arcs and one slim possible plot hole of “The Caretaker,” as well as an impromptu cat fight. It will spin you around so much you might need an air sick bag for the TARDIS! (Which is kind of a series plot for Karen Gillan’s new show.) So let’s set our watches to invisible as we ignite this new episode of The Arrow of Time!
For all your booking needs, check out Dave’s choicest of novels by the rarely-mentioned-on-the-podcast Douglas Adams, and his book Last Chance to See.
For your WhoTube, check out Tick Tock Goes The Clock by speakerwiggin: http://youtu.be/3vmYu30XacA

095 - Bank to the Future
Episode Duration: 0 days, 1 hours, 24 minutes and 37 secondsWe were all set to plan our next heist, but we got distracted by Doctor Who and beer. Still, we did uncover the answer to the second oldest question in the universe: What does Delphox say? At least, I think we did. For the life of me, I can’t seem to remember! It’s a good thing we recorded a podcast about “Time Heist,” or we’d really be up a creek. Also, what is this horrifying worm thing doing here?
This week’s Book by Mail is Driving Jarvis Ham by Jim Bob. Just Jim Bob. As in Bob. Jim Bob.
Do we have a WhoTube, you ask? Yes, yes we do. It is “Doctor Who Fanvid – Through the Kaleidoscope of Time (Tenth Doctor)” by DiarFar: http://youtu.be/EDA4lipbG2A
-
094 - Don't Even Listen
Episode Duration: 0 days, 1 hours, 10 minutes and 47 secondsSome creatures evolve to have perfect hunting. Some get perfect defense. Here at the Arrow of Time we have evolved perfect drinking. Whilst practicing that trait we watch “Listen” and join the Doctor in wondering if anything has perfected hiding (Harry Potter seems pretty good, but that's a different podcast). Will Steven Moffat succeed in overcoming his hackery, or will this be Season Leaf Part Two? The verdict: three out of four podcasters agree that this is an episode to experience while hiding behind your soda. I mean sofa. I mean beer.
For this week's book thing, Dave brings us The Island of the Day Before by Umberto Eco.
Our WhoTube is “Doctor Who – Listen – Never Gonna Leave This Bed” and once again comes from K9humpsmyleg: http://youtu.be/73hq8VLRxeM
-
093 - Robin Hood: Robots in Tights
Episode Duration: 0 days, 0 hours, 47 minutes and 57 secondsRobin Hood and Little John running through the TARDIS, Oo-De-Lally, Oo-De-Lally, golly what a day! And golly what a podcast! The four are once again reunited to talk about Robot of Sherwood. The episode, not the one robot, because there were several robots. I think that might be false advertising. I’m not sure, but what I do know is that we spat out quite a podcast, in record time for an episode. We might as well be splitting arrows here!
The WhoTube is once again from K9HumpsMyLeg with the fantastic video wrapping up the episode called “Doctor Who – Robot Of Sherwood – Holding Out For A Hero” –
For Dave’s “Oh Book, So Book”, he recommends you pick up Parzival: Wolfram Von Eschenbach.
-
092 - Honey, I Shrunk the Doctor
Episode Duration: 0 days, 1 hours, 28 minutes and 45 secondsHave you ever wondered what a Dalek is really made of? I mean besides hate and Nikelodeon Gak. Well the Doctor attempts to answer that question by going “Into the Dalek,” having a full and complete break down in the process. In the absence of Joseph and Gabe we are joined by the always entertaining team of Santiago and Sarah. So fire up those amazing shrinking machines and get your copy books ready as Moffat takes us someplace we’ve never been before, or ever really wanted to go in the first place.
Dave's choice for our I Don’t Know What To Call This Book Segment segment is Kurt Vonnegut's Slapstick, or Lonesome No More, which has exactly as many titles as it sounds!
The WhoTube this week is once again from Doctor Who Episology sensation K9HumpsMyLeg with “Doctor Who – Into The Dalek – Monster” – http://youtu.be/q3qiGUVJWxw
-
091 - The Pander Express
Episode Duration: 0 days, 1 hours, 18 minutes and 1 secondAlright everyone, strap on your nightgown and brush up on your Scottish because the Doctor is back! Finally! As you’ll find, we are all excited to see what this new Doctor is made of, literally if the villains in “Deep Breath” have anything to say about it!
Today’s WhoTube is by K9HumpsMyLeg, where they compress the entire 80 minute episode into about 4 minutes in their video “Doctor Who – Deep Breath – Just Keep Breathing”: http://youtu.be/06qUR13lgrM
And in case you didn’t see the video that a little more than inspired the new title sequence, here it is… http://youtu.be/oXOBHnWiinY
-
090 - Not Just Somebody in a Toga
Episode Duration: 0 days, 1 hours, 4 minutes and 32 secondsWith just days to go until we get to know the who of a new Doctor, we decide to do a temporal 180 and review a slew of historical figures from the show’s past. That’s right folks, the Arrow of Time goes both ways! (That’s what she said.) So strap in as we go back in time with such greats as Queen Elizabeth, Winston Churchill, and Richard Nixon. One of those things is not like the other!
Dave's choice for our Choking On an Odd Purple Fluid segment is Viniq Shimmery Liqueur, which isn’t nearly as deadly as it sounds (it’s pretty deadly)!
This week’s WhoTube is “Awesome Forces (6th Doctor Tribute)” from Calapine: http://youtu.be/73nH-4J5aes
-
089.5 - Merchandising, Mushy-ness, and Trivia Mania!
Episode Duration: 0 days, 0 hours, 50 minutes and 54 secondsIn this excitingly new “Time and a Half,” Kelley joins Matt one last time in San Diego before she ships off to Boston for the unforeseen future. They discuss Capaldi’s anti-smooch stance, ridiculous merchandising, and play some Doctor Who trivia! This sure is one for the books, if podcasts had books, which we sometimes do, but not this time.
-
089 - The Shocking Thing This Doctor Said Will Shock You
Episode Duration: 0 days, 0 hours, 40 minutes and 9 secondsWe're a man down this week, but Matt, Joseph, and Gabe tough it out and discuss, among other things, an interview Steven Moffat gave to SFX Magazine or Web Page or What Have You. Along the way, we find out why we won't see the Doctor reliving old car commercials with Clara, give a brief update on the addictive mobile game Doctor Who Legacy, and discover the riches Matt was bestowed thanks to our fair city playing host to the madness known as San Diego Comic-Con.
Matt's choices for our Last Comic Booking segment are Titan Comics’ Doctor Who: The Tenth Doctor #1 and Doctor Who: The Eleventh Doctor #1, which weren’t nearly as easy to cram into this sentence as usual!
K9HumpsMyLeg graces WhoTube once again this week with “Doctor Who – The Angels Take Manhattan – New York” - http://youtu.be/snxOspn2n-Y
-
088.5 - FanVid Film School
Episode Duration: 0 days, 1 hours, 2 minutes and 31 secondsIn this very international episode of The Arrow of Time and a Half, Matt defies the law of time zones and talks with FanVid Veteran Claudine Harper, or as some of you may know her on YouTube, DoctorDoggmatic. They discuss the sensation of “FanVids,” Claudine’s personal start as a “vidder,” and tips for making your own videos. So grab your favorite video ripping software and take notes, class is in session with The Arrow of Time!
You can find Claudine’s videos here:

088 - Re-Failed. (Series 8 Trailer Breakdown)
Episode Duration: 0 days, 1 hours, 8 minutes and 47 secondsRampaging Rassilon! They finally came out with a Series 8 Trailer! Well you can bet buttons to boots that we’ll break it down and try to extract everything we can from it like a dollar dentist on a dare! And we do. We also take a fan suggestion and do a run down of some of the trippier episodes well suited for when you’ve got the munchies. So grab your bag of Crunch ‘n Munch and trip out with the circus of oddities that is the Arrow of Time!
Dave's choice for our Book Around You segment is Stanislaw Lem's Solaris, which doesn't have nearly as much George Clooney as it sounds!
And for all you WhoTubers the WhoTube for this episode is “Doctor Who – The Twelve Doctors” by MysteronAgent : http://youtu.be/W8C56MrjJJE
-
087 - Game of Phones
Episode Duration: 0 days, 1 hours, 14 minutes and 11 secondsIn lieu of actual Doctor Who content, the Beeb keeps releasing dismally short, mental teasers and iconic spoilers. You can be sure we will dissect these to the point of unrecognition, thus shielding you, gentle listener, from their effect. Also, we discuss a Buzzfeed quality list and a groovy game, Doctor Who Legacy.
Dave's choice for our Through the Booking Glass segment is Joseph Campbell’s The Hero with a Thousand Faces, which doesn’t have nearly as many faces as it sounds!
This week’s WhoTube is “Perfect Halo – Doctor Who fanvid” from user Lanarien: http://youtu.be/yRG_pWrPdjk
-
086 - Mental and Iconic
Episode Duration: 0 days, 1 hours, 0 minutes and 13 secondsWith a dearth of Who news out there on the webosphere, we thought that we would need to work extra hard to deliver our usual timely(?) and informative(??) podcast. We should’ve know that we had nothing to worry about. What starts as a slow boil quickly leaves the confines of the pot as we jump from topic to topic, some of them even about Doctor Who! Our promise to you, gentle viewers, is this: neither snow nor rain nor drought of news will stay us from our daily… uh, weekly… um… We’ll keep doing podcasts.
Dave’s choice for our Bookmark of the Rani segment is Umberto Eco’s The Infinity of Lists, which isn’t nearly as long as it sounds!

085.5 - How to Classic
Episode Duration: 0 days, 0 hours, 41 minutes and 3 secondsHey it’s time for another “Time and a Half”! In this episode Matt and Kelley talk about how a new Who-er can safely traverse the multitude of classic episodes and not be overwhelmed with filler like repeated check-ins in to see if Barbara and Ian are OK, onscreen fiddling with ropes, or shopping for cat food for 10 minutes. This is a beginners guide to classic Who. Enjoy!
Also here are a few things we refer to:
-
085 - Don't Put Margarine in Your Eyes
Episode Duration: 0 days, 1 hours, 8 minutes and 13 secondsA famous person once said that the only constant is change. Being the
hackoriginal thinker that he is, Steven Moffat has taken up that mantra and vows to shake things up in Series Eight. We discuss this, a (decidedly short) brand new teaser trailer, some upcoming guest stars who have never been on the show before, the first musician to ever be in an episode and loads more! In keeping with the change theme, we also introduce some new tangents!Dave’s choice for our Book Nook segment is QI’s Book of the Dead, which isn’t nearly as depressing as it sounds!
This week’s WhoTube features the new Matt Smith, aka Jake Dunsbridge, performing a scene from the Time of the Doctor. Spoilers: the kid’s good. www.youtube.com/watch?v=llJPKvQklzs
-
084 - Selfie
Episode Duration: 0 days, 0 hours, 29 minutes and 54 secondsIt's been too long since we all sat around and mused about our second favorite show (after Mister Rogers, of course), so we decided to record the latest breaking news. Unfortunately, we are posting this about a week late, so it is just news and one flat out inaccuracy (80% wrong). There are at least three spoilers about what we talk about on this page.
If you like Superman, check out our friends at Arkham Social Hour!
For this week's WhoTube, we wanted to share "goodbye, sweetie" from PrettyInPink375.
-
083 - A Sloth Pool Refrain
Episode Duration: 0 days, 0 hours, 39 minutes and 0 secondsWe can hardly believe it’s been nine years since the Ninth Doctor first graced our TV screens! In honor of this momentous occasion, we thought that we would try something new: a retrospective on all of the Doctors! We love talking about them! They’re all fantastic, even Crotchety Grumpmire the First and Freakadoo Weirdson the Sixth (not their real names, obvs). So settle in, grab a gin and tonic, rum and Coke, or some dynamic combination thereof, and enjoy as we take you through all of space and time again for the first time.
A retrospective of this nature just wouldn’t be complete without some sort of visual element, so thankfully user Sam Vestey has compiled video of all the Doctors for this week’s WhoTube, “Celebrating 50 Years of American Doctor Who” - http://youtu.be/bCv5o7n_mtk
-
082 - What Does Delphox Say?
Episode Duration: 0 days, 1 hours, 5 minutes and 38 secondsJust because officially released information has slowed to a trickle doesn’t mean we can’t deliver Who news you can Who use! New monsters! New enemies! New-old monster-enemies! The recently revealed Ms. Delphox is described as the most sinister villain yet: a banker! Great social commentary there, writers, really stickin’ it to the man with that one. This episode also features another edition of our book corner, whimsically named The Who-ey Decimal System, in which Dave discusses The Humanism of Doctor Who by David Layton. Lastly, we introduce a less fanciful new segment, It’s a DVD, covering the release of Second Doctor story Moonbase.
Delve into pop culture with this week’s WhoTube, “Top 10: Doctor Who References” by TARDISArchives: http://youtu.be/D7GxJEqrnO4
-
081 - A Tangent Home Companion
Episode Duration: 0 days, 1 hours, 11 minutes and 30 secondsThere’s a new companion in our future, as you have probably already heard because it was announced a billionty weeks ago. I will now attempt to distract you from our tardiness with a bulleted list of topics discussed on this episode of the podcast:
- New companion Danny Pink (pictured)
- Companions in general
- Doctor Who‘s schedule
- Pros and cons of a changing fan base
- Is Stephen Moffat going to leave because he’s a big whiner who says that he doesn’t have enough time to work on anything but Doctor Who even though there’s only like a dozen episodes a year and besides it’s his own fault that it takes so long anyway
- Pants
Dave also introduces the Arrow of Time Book Corner, wherein he talks about Tiny Acts of Rebellion by Rich Fulcher.
And WhoTube this week is “Doctor Who – Love Don’t Die” from user LiveLikeHeroes:
http://youtu.be/uXRqdMih9HM
-
080 - Clothing Time
Episode Duration: 0 days, 0 hours, 43 minutes and 41 secondsLike the ebb and flow of the tides, a new Doctor is regularly carried to our television shores. With him comes a number of changes: a new personality, new stories, even new companions, but perhaps most importantly, a new
title sequenceoutfit. This week we take a break from not making podcasts to examine Peter Capaldi’s wardrobe choices, and some of those other things I mentioned, probably. If it’s your birthday, then you’re in luck, as our WhoTube from user ilovemymaiden will sing Happy Birthday to you “Doctor Who Style!” - http://youtu.be/qHU_bE9A8vo
-
079 - Steven Moffat is a Hack (revisited)
Episode Duration: 0 days, 0 hours, 53 minutes and 26 secondsAt the Arrow of Time, we may have given Steven Moffat a bit of grief from time to time about his tenure as showrunner. Oh, who are we kidding… If there was a drinking game where you took a drink every time we said “Steven Moffat is a hack,” we’d be responsible for many a hangover! In light of recent events, we think that we may have been unfair to Moffat. Spoilers: we have concluded that a number of his recent episodes are in fact quite good, so this week we pay credit where it is due.
Also in the episode, we said we’d link to this Nerdcubed episode where Moffat says some things about future episodes: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JeCM7LiThEs
And we have a doozie of a WhoTube episode called “Doctor Who: Every Story 1963-2013,” a 50th Anniversary update from BabelColour: http://youtu.be/rxmXrOPYirI
Episode.
-
078.5 - Why Is Everyone Wearing Scarves?
Episode Duration: 0 days, 0 hours, 51 minutes and 35 secondsFor this Half we take a break from mourning the 11th and go back to a happier time. One episode back, exactly. Matt sits down once again with Kate and Kelley to reminisce about what the theatrical experience of the 50th was like. Everything from the on screen trivia to the intense fans who answered the call (but didn’t answer the call of routine bathing). So grab your mail order sonic screwdriver, pull up those TARDIS leggings from Hot Topic, and glue that egg beater on to your homemade Dalek costume, ’cause we’re about to take you to the epicenter of the multiplex.
In case you didn’t get a chance to catch it in theaters, here is a clip of the fun theater etiquette with Strax followed by the “put your glasses on” speech that the Doctor gives, that way you won’t be in the dark, or you will be, I don’t know how it works for movies…
-
078 - Don We Now Our No Apparel
Episode Duration: 0 days, 1 hours, 40 minutes and 49 secondsYou know that dream where you go to church, but make the beginner’s mistake of not wearing clothes? Well hold on to your trousers, because it just became The Most Awkward Doctor Who Plot Device, Ever! In the ostensible Christmas special “The Time of the Doctor,” Steven Moffat borrows heavily from everything he’s ever written and some things he hasn’t, and then throws in a dash of implied/not-so-implied nudity just to angry up the fans. Christmas is in jeopardy (the town, not the holiday), all of his enemies have returned, and the Doc’s running around starkers! This really is a weird thing to be focusing on around Christmas (the holiday, not the town).
Our fully dressed WhoTube this week has Kelsey Kronenberg bringing us “doctor who last christmas” - http://youtu.be/BGmyRAPNvt8
-
077 - Eight is Enough
Episode Duration: 0 days, 1 hours, 6 minutes and 39 secondsThe Doctor Who 50th special had a couple of Doctors in it, which, you know, cool. It’s still a bit disappointing that the other nine (not counting the one we didn’t know about) were left high and proverbially dry. Enter Big Finish and their audio drama “The Light at the End.” Every other surviving Doctor, minus Eccleston, plus some very good voice doubles, gets together to tell a story without all those pesky visuals getting in the way. No matter how gray or round they might now be, it’s easy to imagine each Doctor in their prime. Well, maybe not so much Colin Baker, he sounds a bit jowly.
This week we’re knee deep in WhoTubes!

076.5 - Christmas Town is Coming to Time
Episode Duration: 0 days, 0 hours, 25 minutes and 54 secondsWe invite you to go halfsies with us as we go scene by scene and try to make some sense out of the thirty second trailer for “The Time of the Doctor.” As usual there are a few tangents — we mention things like Fringe and Harry Potter – but then again they might prove to not be so tagenty after all. I mean look at that picture, the Doctor is wearing a robe and there are magical sparks everywhere! We’ve held our record now for being eighty percent wrong, but will we break it this year? Tune in and find out!
For your seasonal listening pleasure we used “Merry Xmas Everyone” by Slade.

076 - The Dawn of the Doctor
Episode Duration: 0 days, 0 hours, 54 minutes and 33 secondsGet ready for some fun, it’s Doctor number — oh, who am I kidding. An Adventure in Space and Time is an emotional roller coaster: fun for a bit, then a harrowing tunnel of sadness before it’s over and demands you exit to the right. Sure, we learned about the creation of our beloved show, meeting the fantastic people who made it happen. We were even forced to raise William Hartnell’s Standardized Doctoring Assessment from “needs improvement” to “exceeds expectations.” But did Mark Gatiss need to completely devastate us along the way?
For a less heart-wrenching but nonetheless quality tribute to the First Doctor, WhoTube it up with this video from Kensta93: http://youtu.be/BJsG3ErR5dQ
-
075 - What Women Want (Spoilers, It's David Tennant)
Episode Duration: 0 days, 1 hours, 8 minutes and 41 secondsThis week we take a break from the 50th festivities to bring you an episode out of its time (we recorded it in the past and make occasional dated comments about the 50th happening soon). 074 - The Five(ish) Podcasters Reboot
Episode Duration: 0 days, 1 hours, 7 minutes and 10 secondsAt the Arrow of Time, we enjoy probing into deep important topics, such as whether or not the comedy joke show known as “The Five(ish) Doctors Reboot” is really a satirical sad sack of smelly socks. Or, if we have multiple Doctors, would they be called Doctor Whos or Doctors Who? Join us as we delve into that and much more!
For our WhoTube, we have “Holding Out for a Hero (a Brigadier Lethbridge-Stewart fanvid)” from Calapine, and the Brigadier is Ace. But probably not the Ace you were expecting. http://youtu.be/KhbeaRvLX7c

073 - Doctors Without Borders
Episode Duration: 0 days, 1 hours, 43 minutes and 30 secondsThis week we delve into Doc number twelve! Wait. No. Hold on, I’ve got this. This week’s pretty nifty, it’s Doctor Who year fifty! Whether at home or in theaters, in two dimensions or in three, you’re in for a treat with the anniversary special no matter who your favorite Doctor is, as long as it’s Matt Smith or David Tennant. All told, “The Day of the Doctor” is just about as great as it can be considering the obvious exclusion of a certain fantastic actor. I speak, of course, of Bernard Cribbins. I mean, who dropped that ball on that one?
Like sands through the hourglass, these are the Tubes of our Who. Actually, just the one this week. LastWhovianTrailers brings us “50 Years in the TARDIS”:

072.5 - Dave's Christmas Wish
Episode Duration: 0 days, 1 hours, 25 minutes and 38 secondsFor this deluxe edition of The Arrow of Time and a Half, Joseph, Matt, Gabe, and Dave talk about “The Night of the Doctor,” the latest and super exciting prequel that came out, and why we are all singing joyous praises to Moffat for his mere 6 and a half minute minisode (that word is still irritating).
Music that was used in this episode for breaks and whatnot includes ”Television” and “If You Know Time” by Robyn Hitchcock, and ”The Warrior” by Patti Smyth.

072 - The Matt So Nice They Named Him Once
Episode Duration: 0 days, 2 hours, 31 minutes and 8 secondsSomething that rhymes with eleven, it’s time for Doctor eleven! That’s right, with only a week to go until the 50th Anniversary we talk about Matt Smith for a surprisingly long time considering we’ve been podcasting about him for years now. Nevertheless, people grow and opinions change, so grab your quirky friend Geoff and enjoy this eleventieth and final ode to the Doctors (at least, for now)!

071.5 - Lots of Podcasts Have a North
Episode Duration: 0 days, 0 hours, 40 minutes and 24 secondsWe go back for halvesies again with long time listener, first time podcaster, Santiago, as he talks about HIS Doctor, Eccleston the 9th. What kind of a gush fest can come forth for this tough guy Doctor? Well you’ll just have to listen won’t you?

071 - Last Action Doctor
Episode Duration: 0 days, 2 hours, 44 minutes and 32 seconds
Here we go again, it’s Doctor number ten! We’ve nearly finished our countdown to the 50th, which means that the time has come for the Greatest Doctor of Them All (in an eleven way tie for first), David Tennant! Holy Ood, this episode is long. I’m pretty sure we say literally everything, and then keep going for good measure. Of course, there’s a lot to be said about Tennant, I just hope the podcast doesn’t come off as overwrought or contrived. For this week’s Babelcolour tribute we have “We’ll Never Forget You”: http://youtu.be/qDTYJcbMBU8

070 - Do Not Blaspheme
Episode Duration: 0 days, 2 hours, 10 minutes and 49 secondsYou don’t have to travel through time to divine that this week we’re talking about Doc number nine! One good thing to come from watching the John Nathan-Turner era of Doctor Who is a newfound
appreciation fortolerance of Russel T Davies. Despite his relative awfulness, Rusty earns a feather in his cap for managing to find a fantastic actor to portray the new Doctor, a certain Christopher “Chris” Eccleston. Though he was never really a big fan of the show, Chris “Don’t Call Me Chris” Eccleston tackles the role with aplomb. And sometimes a banana. Bananas are good!WhoTube? You know the drill. Babelcolour Tribute. “So Macho.” http://youtu.be/hOu7sKcIJCQ

069.5 - The Arrow of Time and a Half
Episode Duration: 0 days, 0 hours, 26 minutes and 39 secondsThis midweek we kick off what’s sure to be a sporadic new feature: The Arrow of Time and a Half. These shorter, simpler episodes eschew musical breaks and WhoTubes in order to deliver a quick dose of podcast. This time, we are predictably late talking about the 5oth Anniversary teaser, which is just chock full of references to Who’s past. We try to sort them all out as we look for clues about “The Day of the Doctor,” all in under thirty minutes! Now that’s bang for your buck, if “buck” were a unit of time.

069 - The Reluctant Doctor
Episode Duration: 0 days, 1 hours, 15 minutes and 41 secondsIt’s never too late for Doctor eight! Though he only ever graced our screens for a single outing, Paul McGann helped pave the way for the series as we know it today. And while you may not be able to see him and his luscious locks, he’s put in a Doctor’s share of work on an array of delightful
audio booksradio dramassound things for listening. Now put on your best fancy dress and get ready to podcast like it’s 1999!Babelcolour continues an impressive streak with this week’s WhoTube. Check out his Eighth Doctor tribute, “An Englishman Abroad”: http://youtu.be/S9BqnxGp4HA

068 - Professor Who
Episode Duration: 0 days, 1 hours, 31 minutes and 8 secondsWe continue our progression with Doctor number seven! That’s right, we’ve arrived at Percy James Patrick Kent-Smith, better known to his fans as Sylvester McCoy. I usually ramble on a bit here, but this week I’ll let Dave’s excellent picture do the talking. Well, that and the podcast, there’s lots of talking there, I’m sure.
Our WhoTube this week is another fine
Babelcolour tribute called “The Little Man”:

read by McCoy, as mentioned:
http://youtu.be/nG9Z5djon7wAlso also, it flew under the radar, but we just passed our third podcast anniversary. So, hooray!

067 - Half Baked
Episode Duration: 0 days, 1 hours, 11 minutes and 59 secondsGet your kicks with Doc number six! This week we cover Colin Baker, who despite all available evidence is not, in fact, colorblind. He manages to clear most of the hurdles during his tenure, from producer John Nathan-Turner’s ineptitude to Perry’s bizarre moon accent. His time in the Doctor’s shoes may be a mixed bag, but don’t go strangling your companion just yet! Three out of four podcasters agree: Colin Baker’s all right.
I’m running out of ways to introduce Babelcolour’s tributes so here’s “Babelcolour Tribute – A Coat of Many Colours”: http://youtu.be/tu2061ieHSc

066 - Some Sort of Cricket Man
Episode Duration: 0 days, 1 hours, 21 minutes and 8 secondsThis week we dive into Five! Peter Davison’s his name, and cricket’s his game (which apparently is like baseball by way of M.C. Escher). Following on the heels of Tom Baker, Davison had big shoes to fill. Does he have enough soul to get our support or should I stop trying to shoehorn puns in here? The former is easily answered by listening in to our latest podcast, and the latter is a resounding yes.

065 - Somewhere Among the Scarves
Episode Duration: 0 days, 1 hours, 20 minutes and 17 secondsWe’re back for more with Four! This week we don our scarves and look back at that perennial fan favorite, Thomas
EugeneStewart Baker. This is one Doctor that always puts on a good show, whether he’s saving space and time with a bag of Jelly Babies or just gadding about the galaxy. And he has some pretty great companions too! So listen to us try to do Baker justice in under ninety minutes and decide for yourself whether he is a great Doctor, or the greatest Doctor (at least until Tennant shows up).We may have gone down this WhoTube path before, but by Jove, it’s too good not to give another go.
