Videogame movies. None of them are good. Sometimes it's studio interference, or a director who doesn't know what they're doing, or just really bad acting. No videogame adaptation has broken the mold of "just not being that great". But will the latest film be a success? We review the new Tomb Raider film to find out. We also went and saw Blockers, and have a chat about a whole heap of trailers that just dropped. 0:00:00 - Introduction 0:04:46 - Blockers [Non-Spoiler Review] 0:10:41 - What Have You Been Consuming Lately? -- 0:11:00 - Red Sparrow [Sandro's Review] -- 0:17:20 - Black Mirror / Library of Souls by Ransom Riggs [Jen's Review] -- 0:23:51 - American Idiot / Muppet Guys Talking [Rob's Review] 0:31:49 - Nerd Headlies -- 0:32:09 - Fantastic Beasts 2 trailer -- 0:37:30 - Ready Player One final trailer -- 0:40:34 - Christopher Robin teaser -- 0:44:13 - Mary Poppins Returns teaser -- 0:47:09 - Infinity War trailer + other Marvel stuff -- 0:55:53 - Star Wars! -- 0:59:56 - DC's New Gods movie -- 1:02:02 - Speed Round! 1:05:36 - Tomb Raider [Spoiler Free] -- 1:22:33 - Spoilers 1:34:24 - Next Time, Outro, Credits & Outtakes Our Melboure Internation Comedy Festival shows! Four new chapters in the Gallifrey saga. The Time Lords and the Daleks have opposed one another across millennia. But now, their conflict tips into an all-out Time War, and nowhere across the universe of spacetime is safe. Battle plans will be drawn, allies recruited, and innocents caught in the crossfire. Gallifrey is going to war, and the cosmos will never be the same again. 1. Celestial Intervention by David Llewellyn The Temporal Powers are under threat. It is only a matter of time before the Daleks attack. Now CIA Coordinator, Romana must protect the interests of Gallifrey, while dealing with demands from President Livia and an increasingly powerful War Council. As allies are whittled away, the Time Lords are drawn into a conflict they can no longer avoid... 2. Soldier Obscura by Tim Foley Braxiatel has always planned for contingencies. As hostilities escalate, he takes Ace into a deadly region of spacetime - The Obscura - to locate an ancient research station. But Ace is about to learn more about Irving Braxiatel than anyone should know. Some soldiers are ready for this fight, but some will not make it through the first round. 3. The Devil You Know by Scott Handcock The Time War has begun in earnest, and Romana must think the unthinkable. For a most dangerous mission, she selects the most dangerous warrior - the Master. But he will not be alone. Leela accompanies her old enemy as they begin an unusual interrogation. What does Finnian Valentine know? And can Leela and the Master ever truly be on the same side? 4. Desperate Measures by Matt Fitton The Dalek Emperor attacks a vital Time Lord outpost. Victory would be a devastating blow to Gallifrey. Romana is caught in the machinations of a President who sees control slipping away. Is it time to bargain with the War Council, or perhaps to parlay with even more dangerous parties? The Time War has barely begun, and for Gallifrey, desperate times are already here... Written By: David Llewellyn, Tim Foley, Scott Handcock and Matt Fitton Directed By: Scott Handcock Cast Louise Jameson (Leela), Lalla Ward (Romana), Sophie Aldred (Ace), Sean Carlsen (Narvin), Miles Richardson (Braxiatel), Derek Jacobi (The Master), Pippa Bennett-Warner (Livia), Paul Marc Davis (Trave), Ebony Wong (Karla), David Sibley (Valerian), Zulema Dene (Danna), Bryan Dick (Finnian Valentine), Guy Adams (Beglis) and Nicholas Briggs (The Daleks). Kasterborous Doctor Who podKastGet ready for a brand new podKast in which Christian Cawley, Brian Terranova and James McLean discuss the latest Doctor Who news.

This week, we discuss the various rumours concerning the speculated return of the Master in Doctor Who Series 8. Is it Charles Dance? Is it Richard Armitage? Perhaps the new Master will be Steve John Shepherd? We don’t know, but we’re certainly interested and we’d love to hear your thoughts on this particularly interesting topic.

Also, we spend a chunk of time discussing Mark Gatiss’ forthcoming BBC Worldwide junket to Brazil to promote Doctor Who and Sherlock, marvel at the sales figures for The Web of Fear on DVD, celebrate the reunion of the Doctor, Ace and Bernice, and share with you our recommendations!

Let’s just file that under “never again.”

This week we disguise ourselves as humans. You do remember we’re not actually humans right? We’re renegade podcast lords, we established that way back when we started the podcast. It’s Human Nature and The Family of Blood, written by Paul Cornell and aired on May 26th and June 2nd, 2007.

    Show-notes:

5:15 Atlantis is the greatest Disney movie ever made.
9:15 Where the Red Fern Grows is a book about a kid and two dogs. Spoiler, the dogs obviously die at the end.
9:15 Bridge to Terebithia is another kids book. There were a couple movie versions, but the most recent one was in 2007.
12:23 Maze Runner is yet another kids’ book. Sounds terrible, and the movie is probably worse, but what do I know?
    36:19 Just why.
46:03 Split is a movie that came out a couple years ago. Apparently it’s a sequel to a movie that came out in 2000.
