Who's He? Podcast #86 Two drifters, off to see the world
Who's He?At the second time of asking, Phil and Paul are giving it another go with Smith and Jones, the season 3 opener. This time they are bit more with it but get easily sidetracked along the way with a discussion on the Doctor kissing his companions - does it still shock or is it old hat now? Phil also manages to get in an impression of Terry Scott and during the recording Paul is visited by the ghost of Jon Pertwee.
And in the news this week, a few items on the 50th Anniversary including events at the BFI next year, Christopher Eccleston being coy about his involvement and what's going on with the good Doctor at Christmas this year with a quick rundown on what ex-Whos stars are appearing in panto this year. And there's also a brief return of Omegas Tat Corner! Just watch out for John Barrowman in panto this year, he'll have your eye out.

Radio Free Skaro #339 - Light Work And Dark Eyes
Radio Free SkaroThe Three Who Rule were reunited (and it felt so good) with Steven's return from Chicago TARDIS…bearing the gift of an interview with Nick Briggs, Jason Haigh-Ellery, and Paul Spragg, whose sterling work in the dramatic audio arts can be appreciated by all and sundry at www.bigfinish.com. News was sparse this week as we enter the calm before the Christmas Special storm, but numerous puzzling references to Ke$ha, a quite sweary Warren and 15 minutes of nonsensical pre-game banter padded out the proceedings nicely.

The Siege in the Jungle PodKast!
Kasterborous PodkastIt’s podKast time again, and this week we discuss a couple of Doctor Who-related matters. Most topical is our reaction to Colin Baker’s ejection from “the jungle”, but we also discuss the beauty of the “base under siege” adventures that punctuate the show’s history.
With Colin’s departure from I’m a Celebrity, Get Me Out of Here!, we finally get the chance to discuss our feelings about the show and his appearance on it, as well as bemoan the apparent lack of Doctor Who fans voting for the Sixth Doctor actor.
Meanwhile our base under siege chat follows the recent news that one of Mark Gatiss’ Series 7 scripts is apparently set on a submarine…
Sadly this week it’s just James and Christian, as Brian Terranova had to spend time saving the universe in his Tenth Doctor outfit (again). To balance things up, next week’s podKast will be hosted by James and Brian.
Whether you're a new listener (welcome to the podKast!) or and existing subscriber to our weekly chats, here's how you can listen:
- Use the player in the top right of each page on Kasterborous.
- Listen with the "pop out" player above, which also allows you to download the podKast to your computer.
- Third, you can take advantage of the RSS feed to subscribe to the podKast for your media player, and also find us on iTunes!
We'll be back again next week.

Episode 23: City of the Dead
The Doctor Who Book Club PodcastThe penultimate month of 2012 (because we love any chance to use the word “penultimate”) brings us City of the Dead by Lloyd Rose, an Eighth Doctor BBC Books novel. This was Rose’s first novel, before which she wrote for Homicide: Life on the Street. After the success of City of the Dead, she was asked to return for the Eighth Doctor series with Camera Obscura and for the Algebra of Ice, featuring the Seventh Doctor, Ace, and the Brigadier.
From the back cover:
‘Nothing can get into the TARDIS,’ the Doctor whispered. Then he realized that Nothing had.
New Orleans, the early 21st century. A dealer in morbid artefacts has been murdered. A charm carved from human bone is missing. An old plantation, miles from any water, has been destroyed by a tidal wave.
Anji goes dancing. Fitz goes grave-robbing. The Doctor attracts the interest of a homicide detective and the enmity of a would-be magician. He wants to find out the secret of the redneck thief and his blind wife. He’d like to help the crippled curator of a museum of magic. He’s trying to refuse politely the request of a crazy young artist that he pose naked with the man’s wife.
Most of all, he needs to figure out what all of them have to do with the Void that is hunting him down.
Before it catches him.
Voodoo, hoodoo, and mystery abound in this month’s selection, which is bound to go down a lot easier than last month’s. Be sure to grab a (cheap) copy and sit back and relax as we discuss The City of the Dead.
Please don’t forget to check us out on Facebook, email us at dwbcpodcast@gmail.com, and follow us on Twitter via @dwbcpodcast. Also, feel free to follow Erik via @sjcaustenite and Sean via @tardistavern.
