Radio Free Skaro #349 - Is That In Ireland?
Radio Free SkaroHas it really been a year? Yes, Gallifrey One is imminent, which means it's time for the annual Radio Free Skaro Gally preview show! The Three Who Rule run down what panels they'd like to see (if they weren't so busy bringing you the best coverage of the convention that money would never actually buy), as well as give you a primer of what to expect at the world's greatest Doctor Who convention. But before they get into full con mode, a bumper crop of news happened this past week, including some very interesting DVD releases coming down the pipe, and the beginning of filming for the hotly anticipated "An Adventure In Space and Time". Next stop: Gallifrey One!

A Remnant of PodKasts!
Kasterborous PodkastThis week’s podKast (with a “K”) is a collision of time – and indeed “wime” – as we bring some recent unheard highlights to the table as Christian Cawley, James McLean and Brian Terranova discuss some Doctor Who topics “after hours”.
That term isn’t an admission of adult language (although you might find a particular rude word in there), rather an explanation that sometimes we end up continuing our discussions after the allotted recording time has ended. As we were unable to commit to an agreed time this week, the result is an interesting mash of chats about pacing in Doctor Who and other shows and films, the question of whether there are any episodes that are missing audio (as opposed to video) and whether the separation between the modern and classic series is really as clearly defined as we think it is.
Also, look out for the announcement of our Shada competition winner, and our new comp – the chance to win Terry Nation: The Man Who Invented the Daleks, by Alwyn W. Turner.
Listen to the podKast for the question and send your entries to terrynation@kasterborous.com. Winners will be announced in a fortnight’s time in that week’s podKast.
Should you choose to do so, you can listen in one of three ways:
- Use the player in the top right of each page on Kasterborous.
- Listen with the "pop out" player above, which also allows you to download the podKast to your computer.
- Third, you can take advantage of the RSS feed to subscribe to the podKast for your media player, and also find us on iTunes!
Incidentally, if you are listening on iTunes, please take the time to leave a rating and review and help us to bring in new listeners to the podKast!

Doctor Who Commentary - 'An Unearthly Child' - The First Doctor
Impossible PodcastsWe start counting down to Doctor Who’s 50th anniversary in November by looking back over the history of Doctor Who, from 1963 down to the present! In this episode, Caleb and Swithun go right back to the very beginning, to discuss An Unearthly Child, (or if you prefer, 100,000BC or The Tribe of Gum, Hartnell overall story titles being what they are…)
William Hartnell was the original Doctor – but is he the original and best? We consider how the Doctor evolved from mysterious and unreliable mad scientist into the unconventional action hero he is today. Plus, how has the role of the companions changed since the original TARDIS crew of Ian, Barbara and Susan, as played by William Russell, Jacqueline Hill and Carole Anne Ford.
Join us as we celebrate the classic opening episode where it all began, plus reconsider those neglected cavemen episodes that follow… or should we skip to the Daleks already?
How do you feel An Unearthly Child holds up after all these years? Are you a fan of the First Doctor, and what are your favourite stories from his era? If you’re a recent Doctor Who fan who came to it since it’s 2005 return, what is it like to go back and uncover Doctor Who’s past? Let us know your thoughts below!

'Who' - Is The Man PodcastThis episode is a day because I was busy yesterday and, as you hear, I only had time to record the episode (late at night), not edit it. But in this evening recorded podcast I talk about some news, rumours, The Christmas Invasion and I gush over Murray Gold's inspiring music for the show.

Episode 76: The Wrong Podcast
The TARDIS TavernThere are two things we learned since recording this podcast. The first is never to drink while listening or watching the subject matter that you’re going to review. The second is that we have a soft spot for Big Finish. We’ve had our stinkers (Red Dawn) and our triumphs (Peri and the Pescon Paradox), so we dipped our fingers into the audio vault once again and pulled out Big Finish’s most recent of its main line of stories, The Wrong Doctors.
So with that join us as we jump a train to Pease Pottage and visit two Melanie Bushes, two Sixth Doctors (one in blue and the other in his traditional patchwork coat), dinosaurs, and singing septuagenarians. If that sounds a little confusing, just imagine if you were drunk.

Episode 62 : The Greatest Show in the Galaxy

Of course instead of finding good fun and creepy clowns they discover a trio of older gods looking for a good time, kites that can spy on you, a killer conductor and creepy clowns. Episode 27 - The One About Mystery Science Theater 3000
Transmissions From AtlantisWe take you back to the 1990′s for this week’s episode. Mystery Science Theater 3000 was one of our favorite shows back in those days. It had a simple concept. We also talk the Sci-Fi and Horror Super Bowl ads, more on the defunct Superman Lives, and Firefly – how can they bring it back without Wash? We give you our review of Hansel and Gretel, talk up World War Z and give a retro review of Paranorman.

The Ood Cast S05E11 - Snow Business
The Ood CastIt’s February. And what’s the first thing you think of when you think of February? That’s right…
Christmas.
So with that in mind, the Ood Cast present their review of the Christmas special – The Snowmen.
What would Strax have done in biblical times? What other tall tales did Clara tell? How did Sir Arthur Conan Doyle explain away Madame Vastra to his agent? Can Jenna-Louise Coleman do just the two accents?
These are all questions. Good ones. And we’ll answer every single one of them in a vigorously dramatic format. All that and a couple of spirited musical interludes besides.
Come with us on our hideously delayed sleigh ride of wonder.
IT’S THE MOST WONDERFUL TIME OF THE YEAR.
FEBRUARY.

Gallifrey One 2013 Preview
The Doctor Who PodcastIn just a few days, the DWP Campervan will be packing up and preparing itself for dematerialisation. The co-ordinates are set for Los Angeles where hoards of Doctor Who fans will be travelling to from all four corners of the globe to celebrate fifty years of the show we call Doctor Who at the annual Gallifrey One convention.
Sadly, some of the Campervan occupants will be absent – Trev, Leeson and Tom’s invites failed to show up at the correct space-time co-ordinates, and they are therefore destined to miss the campervan’s departure – in very a similar way that Tegan missed the TARDIS at the end of Timeflight. Will they end up in Amsterdam? Let hope not. For Amsterdam’s sake.
In the meantime, pull up a chair a listen to Chip from the highly acclaimed Two Minute Timelord podcast and Chris from The Oodcast as they chat toJames about their imminent travel plans, panels, podcast panels, cosplay – you name it, they chat about it.
This IS our preview of The 24 Hours of Gallifrey – and you are MOST welcome!

The Oncoming Storm Ep 45: BF # 24 Sand, Babes, & ... Scorpions???
The Oncoming StormEpisode 45 of The Oncoming Storm is all about The Big Finish story The Eye of The Scorpion by Iain McLaughlin. At least, it's supposed to be. Your hosts Ashley and Josh however, seem to be all over the place this week, in a effort to talk about anything but! Oh, all of the usual topics are touched on, but your hosts seem to be more interested in delving into questions like, "Should new companions be stuck into gaps between stories?" or "Where are all of the historical companions?". How about that age old conundrum, "Why doesn't preventing Erimem from becoming pharaoh piss off Time like that whole Charley thing?" It's a rambley old time in episode 45! The Oncoming Storm... This time, we've got, oh I dunno... some alien scorpions or something? I was busy with the powerpoint on why we need a historical companion again.
