046: Doctor Who - The TV Movie
The Krynoid Podcast"This cannot be how it ends!"Well it damn nearly was.Yes, it's time to reconsider the 1996 Paul McGann TV Movie, with its gun fights, fist fights, car chases, snogging and schmaltz (no way was this an American production!).The Doctor is now only half-Gallifreyan with a naff syrup and an Addams Family interior design sense, while the Master is now part-snake, part-personal lubricant dispenser, with a penchant for "drezzing" up.Thank Bod for Amazing Grace with her static tear and innate knowledge of Time Lord temporal mechanics and for Chang Lee's hip high-fiving - keeping us well and truly anchored to the Eighties in this Millennial tale.So did Jim and Martin enjoy their Whocation in North America? Or did they yearn for Blighty with its breadline budgets, cramped sets and silly CSO? And what do they think of Peter Capaldi's casting as the 12th Doctor?Listen here to find out, y'all!

SpearKast from Space!
Kasterborous PodkastChristian Cawley is a writer at Kasterborous Doctor Who News and Reviews - All the latest Doctor Who news and reviews with our weekly podKast, features and interviews, and a long-running forum.
Usually on the podKast (with a “K”), we talk about stuff then squeeze the recommendations in at the end.
This week, we’re flipping it around, talking about a little bit of stuff at the start (transforming TARDISes, time lapse videos of police box builds, etc.) and filling the rest of the episode up with a massive recommendation – the new Spearhead from Space Special Edition on Blu-ray!
Interestingly, James McLean hasn’t yet seen the new upgraded high definition version, which means that he can be your way in, asking the questions of Christian and Brian as they discuss the upgrade, the extras and the remarkable impact the serial had on Doctor Who back in 1970.

2MTL 319: Why Who Beats Trek

Episode 94: What's Behind Your Door?
The TARDIS TavernThis time we're happy and honored to have Deb Stanish from the Parsec-nominated Doctor Who podcast, Verity! (That exclamation point is part of the title, not that we're super excited and all that she can join us, because we are.) Deb is also known as the editor of such books as Whedonistas: A Celebration of the Worlds of Joss Whedon by the Women Who Love Them and Chicks Unravel Time: Women Journey Through Every Season of Doctor Who. Ooooh, we have an academic at the bar! Let's pump her full of whiskey and see what she has to say!
This time we turn our sights to a more recent time: "The God Complex" which aired as recent as September of 2011. And I hope you can taste the irony of that word "recent", because if you do your math you would realize that's about two years ago, yet it was just last season. Ah, Doctor Who, you are a slow, sometimes tortuous machine. But we love you.
"Like" us on Facebook, email us stuff at tardistavern@gmail.com, and follow Sean on Twitter via @tardistavern. If you're on Twitter and aren't following Deb, you can do so via @DebStanish and also follow her podcast via @VerityPodcast.

Verity! Episode 22 - Companion Confab: Once, Future, & Out of This World
Doctor Who: Verity! It's time to talk about companions again! Join Deb, Erika, Katrina (as opposed to Katarina--yes, we have some confusion there), and Lynne as we discuss companions who joined the Doctor from the past, the future, and other worlds. How do past companions stack up to those from the future? Does one type work better than the other? What about "alien" companions? How about robots? Do robots count? (They so totally do!)
Listen in as we compare Victoria's and Zoe's relationships to Jamie, ponder over whether Leela fits better as a past or future companion, disagree about which Doctor Adric works best with, and squee about Nyssa. All this and more...enjoy!

Also covered [links on our site]:

Lynne watches nferno Special Edition VAM: "Hadoke vs HAVOC"! (Bonus: Who's Round podcast!)

Deb thinks Verity! listeners are awesome!
