Episode 101 : The Horns of Nimon
The Untempered Schism PodcastWe start our second century with a look at one of the... less well remembered stories of the Fourth Doctor's era. Though it's not without reason that it's usually considered one of the weaker stories of the time, it does have some highlights, few and far between as they are.

The PodKast With A Rubbertoe [UPDATED]
Kasterborous PodkastChristian is a writer at Kasterborous Doctor Who News and Reviews - All the latest Doctor Who news and reviews with our weekly podKast, features and interviews, and a long-running forum.
Hey. listener! It’s time to become a viewer once again, as the Kasterborous PodKast (with a “K”) goes all visual to talk to Nick Robatto of Rubbertoe Replicas.
Nick’s the guy who makes a lot of the original props for the show, from the mini police box in Flatline (it was a prop, not a toy!) to the sonic screwdriver, which we reviewed recently.
Unlike most podKasts that feature a lot of James McLean and Christian Cawley with Brian, this time around it’s fair to say that other than the intro and outro, it’s Brian and Nick’s show. Nick was a great guest, and if you’re a collector of Doctor Who props or you’re keen to build your own, you’ll find Nick a fascinating interview subject. Find out more about Nick’s prop replicas at www.rubbertoereplicas.com.
Intro on the audio version by John Guilor; podKast theme by Russell Hugo.
Listen to the PodKast
There are several ways to listen. In addition to the usual player above, we're pleased to announce that you can also stream the podKast using Stitcher, an award-winning, free mobile app available for Android and iPhone/iPad. This pretty much means that you can listen to us anywhere without downloading - pretty neat, we think you'll agree! (Note that it can take a few hours after a new podKast is published to "catch up".)
What’s more, you can now listen and subscribe to the podKast via our Audioboo channel! Head to http://audioboo.fm/channel/doctorwhopodkast and click play to start listening. You can also comment and record your own boos in response to our discussions! Meanwhile you can use the player below to listen through Audioboo:
You haven't clicked play yet?! What are you waiting for? As well as our new Stitcher and Audioboo presence you can also use one of these amazingly convenient ways to download and enjoy this week's podKast.
- Use the player in the top right of the Kasterborous home page, or visit the podKast menu link.
- Listen with the "pop out" player above, which also allows you to download the podKast to your computer.
- You can also take advantage of the RSS feed to subscribe to the podKast for your media player, and even find us on iTunes, where your reviews will help the show considerably.

Episode 43: Never Take Advice From an Oceanographer
Trust Your DoctorOn the other hand, I hear they get pretty deep.
Fury from the Deep was so bad that after Kiyan and Dylan talked about it for an hour the podcast episode refused to save properly and allow them to spread this knowledge to the world. And yet here’s the episode, rerecorded and reconstructed in all it’s glory. The serial was written by Victor Pemberton and aired in March and April of 1968. Oh yeah, and Victoria leaves. Spoiler.

Star Wars The Phantom Menace Commentary from Meds & Kell
Waffle On PodcastWaffle On Commentary over Star Wars The Phantom Menace.Hello and welcome to this special episode of Waffle On Podcast in which Meds and Kell do a film commentary over the mixed reviewed film Star Wars The Phantom Menace. Its a rather tongue in cheek episode and does contain some swearing, mainly when Jar Jar Binks turns up. If you want to join in and listen when watching the film throw your DVD in and pause it just as the words 'A Long Time Ago in a galaxy far Far Away....' pop up and we then count down to play. If you end up listening without the film then that will equally be ok as you can hear it in the background. Remember we have a Facebook group page so come along and join us, and please do leave us feedback on iTunes or any other podcast info page. Next up is our Christmas episode in which the duo throw on their white vests and get ready for Die Hard.

Episode 122: Countdown to Christmas, Part 1
The TARDIS TavernTired of listening to podcasts about Series Eight, Steven Moffat, and Peter Capaldi? Then wait no more, because we exist to go against the grain of the Doctor Who podcasting community. It's just a few more weeks until Christmas, so we're going to do things Casey Kasem style until then and dedicate some time to analyzing those episodes which tend to get the short shrift because of their odd placement in the show's schedule, existing in the limbo between two separate seasons and airing at a time when we have other things on our minds. That's right, we're turning our sights to the Christmas episodes.
We'll begin this journey in 2008, back when RTD was the showrunner, David Tennant was the Doctor, and most people on this side of the pond thought David Morrissey was probably the full name of that weird English pop star. This episode we'll be talking about "The Next Doctor".
Feel free to email us at tardistavern@gmail.com, "like" us on Facebook, and follow us on Twitter via @tardistavern and @tardistaverntit (even though Sean rarely uses Twitter and Steve says he uses it but really doesn't, and I can say that because he never reads the show notes).

Slavering Internet Idiots: The Series 8 Overview
On the Time LashBen and Mark take a break from looking at the 10th Doctor's first series and focus their attention on the 12th Doctor's debut series. Covering the "dark Doctor", Clara and Danny, space dragons, sex changes, reason and logic. Then Mark reduces it all to a reductive RTD V.S Moffat comparison.

Hauling a Couple of Prize Marrows
Flight Through Entirety: A Doctor Who PodcastThis week, we’re looking at the first three stories of Season 5: The Tomb of the Cybermen, The Abominable Snowmen and The Ice Warriors. And to celebrate, each of us is wearing a different outfit — vinyl, fur or fibreglass scales. Monster Season, we’re ready for ya!
Buy the stories!
Thanks to those lovely Mormons (or not, actually), The Tomb of the Cybermen exists in its entirety, and is available to purchase on DVD. (Amazon US) (Amazon UK). In Australia and the UK, the Special Edition DVD was released as part of the Revisitations 3 box set.
The Abominable Snowmen is not so lucky. The surviving Episode 2 is available in the Lost in Time box set. (Amazon US) (Amazon UK). An audio version, narrated by Frazer Hines, is also available. (Audible US) (Audible UK)
Two episodes of The Ice Warriors are missing, but they have been skilfully animated by Qurios Entertainment, which means that we have a DVD release of the entire story. Hooray! (Amazon US) (Amazon UK)
The Tomb of the Cybermen
Oops. Turns out that GarageBand for the iPad is only capable of recording podcasts that are ten minutes long. And so we suddenly had to switch to Brendan’s iMac. Can you spot the difference in sound quality? (If so, sorry. I blame George Pastell.)
Well, we spent ages discussing Victoria’s wardrobe, and said hardly anything about the story itself. But, frankly, we regret nothing!
The Abominable Snowmen
Ooh, Nathan’s Randomiser gets a mention. If you want a computer to choose your next Doctor Who story, then that’s the place to go.
That Tibetan story that everyone is secretly thinking of is James Hilton’s The Lost Horizon. The Goon Show episode is called Shangri-La Again.
The 1957 film The Abominable Snowman might be an, er, inspiration for this story?
Of course, Buddhism and Psychedelia were inseparable in the 1960s, thanks to Timothy Leary.
The Ice Warriors
Richard’s mention of Zardoz (1974) can’t go without comment. If you’re keen to see Sean Connery in tiny, tiny pants, then just look here. Yeesh.
We have a competition!
If you would like to win a 1970s Target novelisation from our collection, here’s what to do. Like us on Facebook, share the post announcing this episode, and then comment on our website. Or if you prefer Twitter, follow us, retweet the tweet announcing the episode, and then comment on our website. Easy.
