Season 25
The Doctor Who ShowBack in April of this year we reviewed Season 16 after a listener poll selected it from the list of four options we provided. A close runner-up to that season was Season 25 and, given its clear popularity with our listeners in the poll, plus the fact it debuted in October of 1988, we thought why not dive in and review it here in October 2020?
After a discussion of the season overall, including thoughts on where the show was at in general, the Australian fan experience for us, and also script editor Andrew Cartmel's first year in the role where he had full control over every story in the season, we then give our thoughts on each individual episode, before a summary at the end.

#175 - Anything Was Just Around the Corner
Doctor Who: The Metebelis 2The masterly Greg joins us this podcast to reminiscence about watching Doctor Who as late night television for a kid and playing Doctor Who with a refrigerator box TARDIS and a plush-toy K9, from corridors to quaries, and the Dalek of Shakopee. We also dive into the early Doctor Who Weekly backup feature comics of Alan Moore to 1980s directors who never were involved with Doctor Who, but should have been all the while battling furnace sounds and dog barks. Opening music is from The Sun Makers score composed by Dudley Simpson and closing music is from the Logopolis score composed by Paddy Kingsland. We recorded this episode on 20 October 2020.

318: Remember When We Did Quotes? (Adam)
Trust Your DoctorI don’t actually remember when we stopped doing quotes.
This week Dylan, Kiyan, and Adam take a nice deep dive into Torchwood. It’s been a little while since we watched an episode that so unnerved us that we were shaken to the very core. Our entire notion of reality itself was questioned by this episode, and Adam claimed it so disturbed him he might have to stop watching Torchwood. It’s Adam, written by Catherine Tregenna and aired on February 13, 2008.

102. He's Punching Himself a Lintel
On the Time LashBen and Mark discuss pain, anguish, death and loss in another hilarious episode of On the Time Lash which pairs 2015's Heaven Sent with 1982's Time Flight. Heaven Sent: Paul McEvoy writes in to tell us all about the beauty of Murray Gold's score, Mark tries to structure the plot around the Kubler-Ross 5 stages of grief, and Ben unpicks the clockwork mechanisms of Steven Moffat's tremendous script. Time-Flight: What would this be like as a Pertwee story? ponders Mark on his first viewing of a much-derided story, but will he toe the line or dissent from fan consensus? Meanwhile, Ben introduces the ropiest conspiracy theory you'll hear all year and discusses what Time-Flight had to offer his younger self as he started out on his Doctor Who journey.
