Episode 278: The Impossible Astronaut OR Who Shot D.R.?
PodcasticaThis week we keep the Moffat train a-rollin' with THE IMPOSSIBLE ASTRONAUT! Yep, the Season Six opener that set the stage for the season's mystery and main story arc. This was peak Modern Who and we recount what fandom was like in this era along with how the show finally did some filming in America. John also thinks the show really has something against hats. This one definitely has some scares and some elements of horror, so be mindful of this one if the youngest viewers are around.

Who's He? Podcast 419 - The last one is a green
Who's He?In this episode of the Who's He? Podcast....
The News
Phil and Paul cast their eye over what Doctor Who news they have missed over the last few weeks. There is series 14 casting news with Jinkx Monsoon cast in an as of yet unspecified role and a new 60th Anniversary multimedia event called Doom's Day has been released which leaves both Phil and Paul cold.
Omega's Tat Corner
In a long overdue return to the corner of tat, it's more 60th Anniversary news with Stieff releasing a special First Doctor teddy bear that you would have to sell a kidney for if you wanted to buy it!
Review - Four to Doomsday
"Four to Doomsday" is the second serial of the 19th season of the British science fiction television series Doctor Who. It originally aired on BBC One in four weekly parts from 18 January to 8 February 1982. The serial features the Fifth Doctor (played by Peter Davison) and his companions Tegan, Nyssa, and Adric. The Doctor and his companions arrive on a spaceship heading to Earth, where they discover the ship's crew and passengers are actually from different eras and planets. They are being controlled by the Monarch, an advanced and manipulative alien who plans to use the humans to repopulate his own race and conquer the universe. The Doctor and his companions must stop the Monarch's plans before it's too late.
Well, Phil and Paul aren't too enthused about this story and were hoping the Target novelisation would save the day but unfortunately this was not be! However, the pair of them get into conversation about the crowded TARDIS and just how much the TARDIS crew want to punch Adric!
You can find us on Twitter and Facebook and you can subscribe to our show on Apple Podcasts/iTunes, Spotify, Amazon Podcasts, Google Podcasts and many other podcatchers and don't forget to subsribe to our Youtube Channel.

Episode 70 - The Visitation (with Mark from Trap One)
Doctor Who LiteratureThis week, it's the first Peter Davison novelization, the first Season 19 novelization, and the first photographic cover. We love all three, no surprise.
Our guest is the superb @Quark_McMalus of Trap One Podcast.
You can find an image of the proposed (and rejected) cover painting for this novelization here.
Doctor Who: Doom's Day Hours 14-11 by M.G. Harris is due out in August.
We have a new logo beginning this week and it's all thanks to @Monster_Maker! It's absolutely lovely and I can't believe it's mine!
If this week's book sounds familiar, it's possibly because the Doctor Who Target Book Club Podcast covered it last week, also with the help of @Monster_Maker.
And don't forget to tune in NEXT week, when our special guest is... @Monster_Maker.
The full 1963 version of "Meet the Mets" can be found here.

Episode 75: Omnirumour 10th Anniversary Special Part 2
Something WhoHere's part 2 of our Omnirumour 10th Anniversary Special.
On 29th March 2013, the DWO fan site said that 'a classic series related announcement' was coming and hinted that it was missing episodes related. In June of that year, the Bleeding Cool website ran a story suggesting that a large number of missing Doctor Who episodes had been found. Then Ian Levine tweeted about “three tons of evidence”. An e-mail, purportedly from a Radio Wiltshire DJ, but showing signs of mixed authorship was being passed between fans and excitement on the forums reached fever pitch. Lots of rumours were passed around and the number of episodes found was often said to be 90.
Finally in October the Radio Times announced that newly-discovered lost Patrick Troughton episodes would be made available for digital download within a week. It was proof, surely, that all the rumours were true? But after The Enemy of the World and The Web of Fear were released, that was it. And ten years later we still don’t know the truth of it, and people still discuss their theories on forums.
There’s a name given to all this madness - the Omnirumour. And on the tenth anniversary of it gaining broad publicity within fandom, I’m with two fellow-sufferers - Tim and Giles. We’ve all spent more time than we care to recount pondering these matters. In this episode of Something Who we’ll chew over what we know for sure, what can’t be true and some of the things that might be true. And finally give you our personal opinions.
Please like or share our podcast with people who will enjoy it, so we can build our listener base high for happiness. You can rate us directly on Apple Podcasts or Podchaser.com

Episode 542 – You’re Making Me Giddy!
Traveling the VortexThis week we begin our exploration of the so-called Season 6B. That’s the fan-derived “missing season” of adventures the Second Doctor embarks on BEFORE he regenerates and is stranded on Earth. We start this series with a setup of the events that lead to Season 6B. We review the novelization of The War Games written by Malcolm Hulke and the short story, War Crimes, from the short story collection, Short Trips.
Enjoy!

Back with a regular episode tomorrow!

Westworld 1973 movie
Waffle On PodcastWaffle On about Westworld
Welcome to part 3 of 12 celebrating the year of 1973. Meds and Kell turn 50 this year and are celebrating with their birth year films and this month is a corker. Westworld starring Yul Bruner, Richard Benjamin and Thanos’s dad James Brolin burst onto our screens and through us into the possibility of living in history. Of course as writer/Director Michael Crichton has a tendency to do the adventure doesn’t go smoothly. Thanks to you all for listening, please do share and the boys will see you next month.

Episode 70 - Ken Deep & Blake's 7
Who and CompanyPodcasting legend and L.I. Who showrunner Ken Deep joins us this month to discuss how his lifelong love of a show has grown from fan clubs to podcasts to convention hosting. Ken talks about discovering Doctor Who, riding his bike across town to the "skyscraper of Doctor Who Towers", the joys of running a Doctor Who convention, and how a randomly recorded episode at the end of a dubbed Doctor Who tape led him straight into another fandom.
That fandom would be Ken's Pick of the Month - the BBC renegade sci-fi classic, Blake's 7! Hear us discuss why this is one of Ken's favorite all-time shows, how very closely related it is to Doctor Who, how influential the show was to other sci-fi phenomena that came afterwards, and how it still holds up over 40 years later. Was this the Torchwood of its time? And to exactly which Star Trek episode does Ken compare the entire series?
Find out more about L.I Who 2023 at longislanddoctorwho.com for guests, hotel information, and tickets. That's August 18-20, 2023 at Holiday Inn Long Island. Who & Company will also be there! Come say hello!

149. Doctor Who Audio Adaptations - JOHN DORNEY on The Romance of Crime and The English Way of Death | Randomoids XIX
Doctor Who : The Sirens of AudioFor our March Randomoids episode we are joined by Big Finish legend John Dorney. John adapted the Gareth Roberts Doctor Who Missing Adventures novels, The Romance of Crime & The English Way of Death, for audio.
We also speculate on why the novel adaptations haven't sold as well as Big Finish would have hoped, and we look forward to our special month of in person events with Janet Fielding and Sophie Aldred.

Episode 277: The Big Bang OR The Bow Tie Theory
PodcasticaAfter The Pandorica Opens...the Pandorica closes...and then opens again because the Doctor is jumping around in time (as he's wont to do) making sure that the cracks in the universe don't consume the whole thing and ensuring that his friends come out alright. Even if that means removing himself from the universe. But is the Doctor ever really gone? Hmm, that's a phrase we usually save for the Master! Anyway, this time we review The Big Bang...and a word of warning to our headphone listeners, Taylor's switched up his mic game this ep and is coming in a little hot. So maybe turn us down a notch or two.
