Podcastica Episode 287: Closing Time OR Semisonic Screwdriver
Podcastica"Closing time! You don't have to go home, but you can't stay here!" Actually, wait, no you can stay here! In fact, we'd prefer if you stayed here and listened to our review of the 6th season episode "Closing Time!" Yes, it's James Corden. Yes, the Doctor talks to a baby. Yes, we kind of wonder why we see Amy & Rory at all. But there's also ruminations on what Carpool Karaoke would be like on a Cybership and the power of parenthood to pull you through tough situations!

Scott's Short Reviews - Invasion of The Dinosaurs
The Doctor and Sarah Jane arrive on Earth in the midst of the chaos and begin investigating the cause of temporal disturbances that make dinosaurs appear on the streets of London. They discover that a group of scientists, led by the renegade scientist Professor Whitaker, are behind the scheme. They are using a device called the "time reversal" to bring dinosaurs to the present day, with the intention of "cleansing" the Earth by erasing the technological advancements that they believe have led to its decline.
Join a very tired Scott as he takes a video diary approach to reviewing this story and what will he make of those dinosaurs?

TDP 1176: #Doctorwho : The Fifth Doctor Adventures: Conflicts of Interest
Tin Dog Podcast1. Friendly Fire by John Dorney (3 parts) When the TARDIS needs to reset itself, the Doctor, Nyssa and Tegan find themselves having to fill time on a space-hub filled with numerous attractions. This pleases Tegan and Nyssa no end... but the Doctor is more interested in visiting an alien friend of his living on a nearby mining planet and is able to persuade his friends to join him. But on arrival, his friend is nowhere to be found and the locals are more than slightly unwelcoming. With limited options for departure and a hostile populace they may be in a lot of trouble. Sometimes true monsters are found in the strangest places. 2. The Edge of the War by Jonathan Barnes (3 parts) France in the summer of 1936. The village of Villy is in a state of contentment, tinged only slightly with unease. A kilometre away, construction is underway on a large underground fortification, part of the Maginot Line project which has seen the building of a series of defences against future invasion. A young artist has arrived in the village to paint the landscape. Her name is Nyssa and she has taken a room in the local inn, run in its owner’s absence by a young Australian woman called Tegan. But she's not the only newcomer. A detective called the Doctor has just got in from Paris. And he has quite a mystery to solve... This release comes with a bonus download audiobook: Gobbledegook by Frazer Lee, performed by Dan Starkey.

Doctor Who - The Anniversary Specials | The Five Doctors
This feature length episode of Doctor Who bought back the previous actors (well 2 of them anyway!) who had played the Doctor to join Peter Davison to celebrate the 20th anniversary of the show. In a tale of forbidden knowledge and power being sought on Gallifrey, just who is taking various incarnations of the Doctor out of time and dropping them into the Death Zone on Gallifrey to play the game of Rassilon?
Once again Phil and Scott sit down to discuss this celebratory story which sees Scott ask just what is canon before moving onto even pithier questions on the topic of the Raston Warrior Robots butt cheeks.
This episode has also been released to celebrate Doctor Who Podcast Day!

6.15 Doctor Who and the Time War
Doctor Who - Pieces of EighthREMEMBER when we didn't know what caused the Eighth Doctor to regenerate? And then in 2013 we found out, in The Night of the Doctor?
Little did we know that Russell T Davies had also plotted out the end of Paul McGann's incarnation, for a short story, which ultimately never saw the light of day until the Doctor Who: Adventures in Lockdown series, first published in the BBC website and later, in print.
We bring you a full reading of the story this week, complete with music and sound design, as well as Russell T Davies' introduction to the story brought to life by Big Finish's Narvin himself - Seán Carlsen!
Join Kenny and Matt for a discussion on the story, as they find a large number of similarities between Doctor Who and the Time War and The Night of the Doctor.

Podcastica Episode 286: The Girl Who Waited OR Amy Pond's Big Adventure
PodcasticaWell, it's an episode we knew we'd have to tackle eventually. The Girl Who Waited wasn't our favorite episode when it first aired. Over time, it appears that John has softened on it, but Taylor still feels like Moffat is putting Amy and Rory through the wringer any chance he gets. Join us as we process our feelings, talk about some Who News, and (as always) focus on the parts we enjoyed most!

#229 - Statistical-Blips-and-Blobs
Doctor Who: The Metebelis 2Ben and David continue their look at the Doctor Who monthly rankings by discussing the results of the 1980s Doctors, plus the Chris Eccleston stories. We theorize to why there is so little movement in the rankings over the years and lament the voting preferences of the DWM readership. The music for this episode is from The Mark of the Rani, composed by Jonathan Gibbs of the BBC Radiophonic Workshop. We recorded this episode on 2 July 2023.
