Over the years, whenever Dave has seen a notable Doctor Who alum at an event, we've endeavoured to switch on the microphones and grab his thoughts in a special, standalone episode of the show.

A year ago this was Sophie Aldred in the original 'Dave's Big Day Out' episode, but prior to that, episodes like, 'When Dave Met Chris' have also entertained listeners who couldn't attend the events.

1986 saw the release of the first two Companions of Doctor Who novels, original full-length books rather than novelizations of Doctor Who TV serials. There would only be one more after this one. Harry Sullivan's War was written by Ian Marter, who died tragically young, on his own 42nd birthday, just a couple of weeks after the book's release.

Jim Sangster rejoins me as the guest for this week's book -- and also wrote this week's theme song!

Waffle On about To Live and Die in L.A

Its another episode celebrating 1985 and Meds and Kell are divided in opinion with this film. One loves it, the other finds it adiquately amusing, can you guess who??? It does have a cracking soundtrack and brilliant perormances from Willem Dafoe and William Peterson.

Review - The Caves of Androzani

What has taken these two so long to get around to talking about this story?  In episode in which Phil has the occasional disagreement with his microphone stand, Paul and he discuss The Caves of Androzani, Peter Davison's final story in the role of the Doctor. While considered an all time classic by just about everyone, will Phil and Paul find fault? And just why didn't the Doctor take his medicine early?

The news is also covered as we get Paul's take on the method in which the new series is being released on iPlayer first and their reaction to Steven Moffat returning to write for Doctor Who.

But they don't talk about the new trailer as this was recorded way in advance of that!
