Radio Free Skaro #269 - Who Do You Think You Are Kidding, Mr Hitler?
Radio Free SkaroDoctor Who is back! After what seemed equally both a long summer and a short summer, Doctor Who has returned to our screens with Let's Kill Hitler -- and of course the Three Who Rule were all over the episode to deliver their review. But wait, there's more! Torchwood is still making its way toward the end of Miracle Day, so of course the lads throw in their two cents about End of the Road. What do they think about these new offerings from the Whoniverse? Lastly, along with the usual news and stats, we also speak with Doctor Who Brand Manager Edward Russell about his upcoming Walk for Lis!

Doctor Who - 'Let's Kill Hitler' - Q&A with Steven Moffat
Impossible PodcastsPhoto by Dave Parsons
Our very own Caleb Woodbridge had the chance to question Steven Moffat, Arthur Darvill and Karen Gillan at the recent preview screening for 'Let's Kill Hitler', held at the British Film Institute in London. Find out how the showrunner keeps his stories straight, his approach to the mythology of the Doctor and, most importantly, why they really keep killing Rory.

Torchwood Miracle Day - Ep 7 'Immortal Sins' - Discussion
Impossible PodcastsNo time for a full commentary this week, sorry, but Gwen Williams and P.G. Bell go tete a tete over the details of 'Immortal Sins', the latest episode of Torchwood: Miracle Day.
In addition to discussing whether this marks a turning point for the series, we find time to talk about Catholocism, homosexuality, armed police response units, the upward trend of John Barrowman's acting (no, really) and velociraptors. What more could you ask for? (Apologies for any slight discrepancies in the sound quality of this week's podcast - we experienced a few technical difficulties that we've done our best to remedy in the editing process).
Length: 23 minutes

Looking forward to the return of Doctor Who? Don't forget to join us for Moffat Bingo, which will be available here on the blog on Saturday. Plus, stay tuned for a word from the man himself, recorded at the recent Q&A session at the British Film Institute!

Episode 8: The Infinity Doctors
The Doctor Who Book Club PodcastAugust brings us The Infinity Doctors by Lance Parkin (ISBN: 0563-40591-0), quite an epic story which picks up the history of Gallifrey from where we left off in "The Deadly Assassin" and "Arc of Inifinity." From the back cover:
"Sing about the past again, and sing that same old song. Tell me what you know, so I can tell you that you're wrong."
Gallifrey. The Doctor's home planet. For twenty thousand centuries the Gallifreyans have been the most powerful race in the cosmos. They have circumnavigated infinity and eternity, harnessed science and conquered death. They are the Lords of Time, and have used their powers carefully.
But now a new force has been unleashed, one that is literally capable of anything. It is enough to give even the Time Lords nightmares. More than that: it is enough to destroy them.
It is one of their own. Waiting for them at the end of the universe.
The Infinity Doctors, published in 1998, was BBC Book's release to celebrate the 35th anniversary of Doctor Who. Author Lance Parkin has written a number of ground-breaking novels in the series, including the Eighth Doctor's final adventure, The Gallifrey Chronicles.

2MTL 231: Torchwood: "End of the Road" Reviewed
Two-minute Time LordAfter a couple of atypical episodes, "End of the Road" is on a more typical Miracle Day flight plan: talkier, more gradual. Matt Hills argues this is part and parcel of the show being a suspense thriller, not an SF action romp, and I agree. And yet, this slower episode gives me a chance to look at a few frustrations I have with a series I otherwise enjoy.

2MTL 230: Torchwood: "Immortal Sins" Reviewed
Two-minute Time LordWhew.
So. Was it good for you, too?
Of course, curse me for not being able to single out a reason why it struck such a chord with me beyond the most obvious distinction between this and the previous episodes — besides John Barrowman finally coming off the sidelines, that is.
(My son totally wanted me to make him into a Cyberman. Thanks, Luke!)
