October's release, as our rotation of the series' dictates, will be a Virgin New Adventure chosen by Sean: Cat's Cradle: Time's Crucible by Marc Platt (ISBN: 0-426-20365-8).  Here's the blurb from the back cover:

You're on your own, Ace.

The TARDIS is invaded by an alien presence, and is then destroyed.  The Doctor disappears.

If Marc Platt sounds familiar, you likely know him as the author of the Seventh Doctor's televised serial, "Ghost Light."  He also penned the Seventh Doctor's final adventure of the Virgin line, Lungbarrow, and Big Finish's Spare Parts.  All that being said, we have some rather high expectations for this book.

Another short and lonely one this week, Phil takes a brief glimpse into Torchwood: The Lost Files - Episode 2 "Submission" and apologises for talking to himself. Also there's still a competition going on.

The Doctor has chosen a story from his future to help defend himself against the Valeyard’s charges, in which he and his companion Mel investigate a murder on the spaceship Hyperion III, thwart a mutiny, and stop a hostile race of alien plants called the Vervoids. What do all of these things have to do with each other? Who is Mel and how did she begin traveling with the Doctor? How can the Doctor use an adventure from his future in his defense without breaking the first rule of time? Find out in the newest episode of The Doctor’s Companion! Now that there is no more new Doctor Who, the lads go back to their series 5 retrospective with The Time Of Angels. Nothing can be found wrong with this story as both Phil and Paul enjoyed revisiting this episode and both wax lyrical as to how great it is. Shame about the news section though. In another slow news week, they start off well with the Matt Smith leaving rumours and then end up shamelessly padding things out by talking about Jon Pertwee whilst on a trip down Doctor Who memory lane. All together now, "Memories....like the corners of my mind...."

Welcome back! We return after a week off ready to tackle our next big hiatus project - the eleven doctors! With 11 weeks until the airing of the 2011 Christmas Special, we've decided to spend that time looking at all of the doctors and famous arcs they've done. We begin with what started it all, Wiliam Hartnell as the First Doctor in An Unearthly Child. Brian, Bobby and Nancy have some thoughts and theories, and we get to some listener feedback as well.
