Bonus Waffle On about Shaun of the Dead with The Anomaly Podcast
Waffle On PodcastWaffle On about Shaun of the Dead A Bonus Show with The Anomaly Podcast
Hello and welcome to this very special bonus Halloween episode of Waffle On Podcast in which Meds joins forces with our ‘Sister Show’ The brilliant Anomaly Podcast.
Jen and Angela fight of the zombies and help Meds waffle on about this brilliant British film which stars Simon Pegg and Nick Frost. Also as a special treat there is a comedy sketch at the beginning to get the ball rolling. One word of warning for those who listen with kids this is a podcast about zombies and eating brains, and in this version there are clips that do contain a lot of swearing so please BE WARNED. (The Waffle On version is slightly different to The Anomaly one so please download both podcasts and if you dont want one with cuss words in please listen to The Anomaly episode)
Huge thanks to Jen who did all the hard work in recording this podcast and putting all the levels together and for producing the sketch at the start. YOU ROCK.
Angela and Jen of Anomaly Podcast
Remember both Waffle On and Anomaly have Facebook pages so please head over there and join the groups.
Cheers.

I know you from a previous incarnation
Who's He?This week, a sleep deprived Paul and a chipper Phil continue their look back at series 5 with Flesh And Stone. Here they discuss whether this story proves that not all two part stories have weak second parts and whether Amy throwing herself at the Doctor does or does not seem out of place in what is essentially a childrens programme. And with the announcement that a clip of this years Christmas special will be on this years Children In Need, Phil wonders why we have to sit through hours of dancing newsreaders to see a couple of minutes of Who? Let's get this straight though, Children In Need is a worthy cause. Phil just doesn't like dancing newsreaders.

The Adventures of Tintin: The Secret of the Unicorn (2011) - Movie Review
MrTARDIS Reviews
Trilbee takes a look at The Adventures of Tintin. One of the best movies of the year... Uniting elements from Hergé volumes The Crab With The Golden Claws, The Secret Of The Unicorn and Red Rackham's Treasure, valiant Belgian reporter Tintin (Bell), along with brainy mutt Snowy, is on the trail of a lost family fortune, and a future best friend -- rambunctious soak Captain Haddock (Serkis). The Adventures of Tintin: The Secret of the Unicorn belongs to Paramount Pictures and Columbia Pictures. This video is for educational and critical purposes only and is protected under fair use.

Episode 55: The Craptastics, Part 3 of 5: Time and the Rani
The TARDIS TavernAfter a brief cutaway to a discussion of Series Six, we're back to business again with our "Craptastics" series, in which we review the bottom five stories of Doctor Who Magazine's 2009 poll.
This time we discuss #498 in the poll, the infamous "Time and the Rani." Joining us for the fun is Steven of Radio Free Skaro, who makes us feel like buffoons with his encyclopedic knowledge of the show (as if he needed help with that). Is Mel redeemable in this one? Does Kate O'Mara do good imitations? Why does the Doctor play spoons on the Rani's breasts? Will they ever have a "Time and the Rani" Lego set? All these questions will be answered...and more, including some cryptic audio feedback from one of our favorite listeners.
Did you know that we only have 126 followers on Facebook? You could be #127! We also like receiving audio feedback at tardistavern@gmail.com. Also, catch Sean on Twitter via @tardistavern and Steve via @tardistaverntit. We really need to plug these things when we record, but frankly we're just too drunk to remember.

Author Interview - Simon Kurt Unsworth - FantasyCon 2011
Impossible PodcastsHundreds of fantasy, sci-fi and horror fans descended on Brighton last weekend for the British Fantasy Society's annual convention. Our reviews editor, P.G. Bell, was one of them.
There are lots of good reasons to attend the annual FantasyCon. Free wine is one. The chance to meet your favourite writers and publishers in the flesh is another. And that's why I was there. (Well, also for the free wine. But definitely not for Saturday night's tentacle burlesque show. Honest).
I got to chat with World Fantasy Award nominated writer Simon Kurt Unsworth, who was in town to launch his new book, Quiet Houses. (If you haven't heard our review of Quiet Houses yet, you can download it here). He told me how the book came into being, how a series of long bus journeys led to him becoming a writer, and why he likes his characters to be "baffled". Click the link below to hear the full story, and read on after the break for some photos of the launch and the rest of the weekend!

Episode 10: Cat's Cradle: Time's Crucible
The Doctor Who Book Club PodcastOctober's release, as our rotation of the series' dictates, will be a Virgin New Adventure chosen by Sean: Cat's Cradle: Time's Crucible by Marc Platt (ISBN: 0-426-20365-8). Here's the blurb from the back cover:
You're on your own, Ace.
The TARDIS is invaded by an alien presence, and is then destroyed. The Doctor disappears.
Ace, lost and alone, finds herself in a bizarre deserted city ruled by the tyrannical, leach-like monster known as the Process.
Lost voyagers drawn forward from Ancient Gallifrey perform obsessive rituals in the ruins.
The strands of time are tangled in a cat's cradle of dimensions.
Only the Doctor can challenge the rule of the Process and restore the stolen Future.
But the Doctor was destroyed long ago, before Time began.
Hmm, sounds mysterious.
If Marc Platt sounds familiar, you likely know him as the author of the Seventh Doctor's televised serial, "Ghost Light." He also penned the Seventh Doctor's final adventure of the Virgin line, Lungbarrow, and Big Finish's Spare Parts. All that being said, we have some rather high expectations for this book.
