tin-dog@hotmail.co.uk The Tin Dog welcomes you to sit back and listen to his rants and ramblings about all that is best in modern SF and Television. Via the gift of the new fangled Podcast over the tinterweb. As you can probably guess Tin Dog mostly talks about Doctor Who, Torchwood and Sarah Jane Smith but that wont stop him talking about any other subject you suggest. Hailing from a non specific part of the northeast of England, Tin Dog is male and in his mid 30s. A life long fan of almost all TV SF. His semi-autistic tendencies combined with his total lack of social skills have helped him find a place in the heart of British SF Fandom. Even as a child the Tin Dogs mother told him that she can trace his love of SF TV back to his rhythmic kicking, while still in the womb, along to the beat of the Avengers theme music. From Gabriel Chase to Totters Lane, from the Bad Wolf Satellite to the back streets of the Cardiff, Tin Dog will give you his thoughts on the wonderful Whoniverse. Daleks and Cybermen and TARDIS ES Oh My If you enjoy these Tin Dog Podcasts please remember to tell your friends and leave an email tin-dog@hotmail.co.uk

@TinDogPodcast reviews The planet Dashrah is a world of exceptional beauty. Historical ruins; colourful skies; swirling sunsets... Unsurprisingly, it's a major tourist trap. So if you want to visit Dashrah, first you'll have to visit Parking, the artificial planetoid that Galactic Heritage built next door. Parking, as its name implies, is a spaceship park. A huge spaceship park. A huge, enormous spaceship park. When the TARDIS materialises in Parking's Northern Hemisphere, the Doctor, Ace and Mel envisage a quick teleport trip to the surface of Dashrah. But they've reckoned without the superzealous Wardens, and their robotic servitors... the sect of the Free Parkers, who wage war against the Wardens... the spontaneously combusting spaceships... and the terrifying secret that lies at the lowest of Parking's lower levels. Written By: John Dorney Directed By: Ken Bentley Cast Sylvester McCoy (The Doctor), Sophie Aldred (Ace), Bonnie Langford (Mel Bush), Gabrielle Glaister (Cowley), Hywel Morgan (Kempton/ Tribesman), Kate Duchene (Regina/ Seraphim), Leighton Pugh (Fulton), Jack Monaghan (Dunne/ Selfdrive), James Joyce (Robowardens). Synopsis This title was released in July 2017. It will be exclusively available to buy from the BF website until September 30th 2017, and on general sale after this date. "Ianto really shines in this story and Gareth David-Lloyd gets to play him with a range I think was only started in the TV show. 10/10" Indie Mac User "'The Office of Never Was' is a welcome return of Ianto Jones to the Big Finish world. Gareth David-Lloyd has turned in an excellent performance of a challenging script. Goss has taken a daring move with the character and crafted the perfect environment for it. This is an essential Torchwood story for your collection. - 9/10 " Blogtor Who "This story goes right to the heart of what Torchwood are and what they do, it deals with the consequences of those actions almost like no other story before it and lays Ianto's soul bare - Ianto always was the softer side of Torchwood, this explores how he deals with the contradictions in his job and how those contradictions can devastate the lives of those who Torchwood sometimes only think of as all in a days work." Planet Mondas "For me, Ianto was always the unsung hero of Torchwood Cardiff. From his humble beginnings serving tea to Jack and the gang, to being a badass, to being murdered in Children of Earth, Ianto was always dependably brilliant; and James Goss makes sure you know it in this story." Gallifrey Archive There's an empty office block in Cardiff. That's nothing special - plenty of businesses go under, clear out, cease to exist. All that's left behind is an empty building. But there's one office block that refuses to be forgotten about. There have been stories about that building - strange lights, funny goings on, faces pressed up against the glass. Enough to get the locals worried. Enough to ask Torchwood to get involved. It's Friday night. Ianto Jones has better things to do with his time than look round a haunted building. But he goes anyway, and it turns out that The Office has been waiting for him. Torchwood contains adult material and may not be suitable for younger listeners. Written By: James Goss Directed By: Scott Handcock Cast Gareth David-Lloyd (Ianto Jones), Bethan Rose Young (Girl), David Shields(Oliver) Producer James Goss Script Editor Steve Tribe

@TinDogPodcast talks about "Being scared is the least of your worries." The Shining Men are everywhere. You spot them out of the corner of your eye. Abnormally tall, with long lank hair, blank faces and blazing eyes. If they catch you, they'll drag you away to who knows where. No one is safe. They're on every street corner. Waiting. Watching. Shining bright. Of course it's a hoax. It has to be, right? It started as a joke, a prank for Halloween. Then it went viral. Idiots dressing up as monsters. Giving folk a scare. Silly masks and fright wigs. No one gets hurt. Because bogeymen aren't real. Until people start going missing and lights burn in the darkness. Burning like eyes. But help is on its way, in the form of a strange man called the Doctor and his friend, Bill. The Doctor will keep us safe. The Doctor will stop the monsters. Unless the monsters stop the Doctor first... An original novel featuring the Twelfth Doctor and Bill as played by Peter Capaldi and Pearl Mackie. • TDP 700: The New Doctor is Announced

    17 July 2017 (12:40pm GMT)
Episode Duration: 0 days, 0 hours, 33 minutes and 33 seconds

    Direct Podcast Download

@TinDogPodcast talks about the news Jodie Whittaker has been announced as Doctor Who's 13th Time Lord - the first woman to be given the role. The new Doctor's identity was revealed in a trailer broadcast at the end of the Wimbledon men's singles final. The Broadchurch star succeeds Peter Capaldi, who took over the role in 2013 and leaves in the forthcoming Christmas special. Whittaker, 35, said it was "overwhelming, as a feminist" to become the next Doctor. She will make her debut on the sci-fi show when the Doctor regenerates in the Christmas special. All the Doctors so far, from Hartnell to Whittaker Time Lord's new gender splits Doctor Who fans The Huddersfield-born star, who was a late favourite to become the Doctor, will find a familiar face for her on set - Doctor Who's new showrunner is Broadchurch creator Chris Chibnall. Whittaker said: "I'm beyond excited to begin this epic journey - with Chris and with every Whovian on this planet. "It's more than an honour to play the Doctor. It means remembering everyone I used to be, while stepping forward to embrace everything the Doctor stands for: hope. I can't wait." The actress also shares another Broadchurch link with Doctor Who - co-star David Tennant was the 10th Doctor. Analysis Jodie Whittaker By Lizo Mzimba, BBC entertainment correspondent It was always unlikely that the Doctor would continue to be white and male, especially as the BBC has committed itself to greater diversity on its programmes. Casting the first female Doctor is something many viewers have been calling for. And strong female-led stories have been successful on the big and small screen in recent years, in films ranging from The Hunger Games and Star Wars to Wonder Woman, and in TV series like Game of Thrones. The BBC will be hoping today's announcement will not just excite viewers, but will also demonstrate that the time travel show has firmly moved into the 21st century. Whittaker said it felt "incredible" to take on the role, saying: "It feels completely overwhelming, as a feminist, as a woman, as an actor, as a human, as someone who wants to continually push themselves and challenge themselves, and not be boxed in by what you're told you can and can't be." And she told fans not to be "scared" by her gender. "Because this is a really exciting time, and Doctor Who represents everything that's exciting about change," she said, adding: "The fans have lived through so many changes, and this is only a new, different one, not a fearful one." Whittaker said she had used the codename "Clooney" when discussing the part with her husband and agent - as actor George is "an iconic guy". Peter Capaldi and David Bradley Image caption Peter Capaldi will bow out in this year's Christmas special, featuring David Bradley as the First Doctor Chibnall said the 13th Doctor was always going to be a woman. He said: "I always knew I wanted the 13th Doctor to be a woman and we're thrilled to have secured our number one choice. "Her audition for the Doctor simply blew us all away. Jodie is an in-demand, funny, inspiring, super-smart force of nature and will bring loads of wit, strength and warmth to the role. The 13th Doctor is on her way." Chibnall is taking over from Steven Moffat, who leaves the series at the same time as Capaldi. Capaldi, who had said he wanted to see a woman replace him, said: "Anyone who has seen Jodie Whittaker's work will know that she is a wonderful actress of great individuality and charm. "She has above all the huge heart to play this most special part. She's going to be a fantastic Doctor."

This title was released in June 2017. It will be exclusively available to buy from the BF website until July 31st 2017, and on general sale after this date. The world has ended. 'The Death' pandemic crossed continents, sparing only a fraction of the global population. The survivors are now trying to pick up the pieces and rebuild society - to create a new future. But with no cities, no laws, no technology, everyone must start over. And the worst of human nature has survived along with the best... Four new battles for survival, from the world of Terry Nation's cult-classic series. 6.1 Beating the Bounds by Ian Potter Abby Grant's search for her son has taken her all across Britain and back. Following every possible lead, she finds herself on long-abandoned roads to forgotten villages. But now, two years after the first Death, such communities still wish to protect themselves. And they do not take kindly to strangers. 6.2 The Trapping Pit by Christopher Hatherall On a routine trading mission from Whitecross to Evelyn Piper's Foundation, Jenny Richards and community doctor Ruth Anderson are ambushed by desperate scavengers. When the tables turn, an escape attempt becomes a struggle for survival. With a young man's life hanging in the balance, Ruth's skills are put to the ultimate test. 6.3 Revenge of Heaven by Simon Clark Greg Preston has forged links with survivors in Norway to start rebuilding society. He's ready to return home to his family... until an unexpected visitor drags him into a race across the Scandinavian snows. Hope for the future lies with a kidnapped scientist, and some will go to any lengths to control that hope. 6.4 Lockup by Andrew Smith As her journey continues, Abby encounters a secure and well-ordered community, based inside a prison complex, calling itself 'Peacetown'. But the settlement is not as idyllic as its name suggests, and the lockup harbours secrets. Among them, a prisoner. Someone Abby knows of old... A man called Greg Preston. @TinDogPodcast reviews "The Doctor Falls" Notes from wiki Rachel Talalay Steven Moffat 1 July 2017 TBD 83 Escaping to the next floor of the ship, the Doctor tries to comfort Bill, who has retained her humanity, though this is wearing thin. This floor of the ship is a simulated countryside, where the group helps defend the villagers from the oncoming Cybermen. Knowing they are overwhelmed, the Doctor attempts to convince Missy and the Master to help him. They refuse, though Missy seems conflicted. Hoping to save the villagers, the Doctor tells Nardole to take them to another floor while he sacrifices himself. Bill opts to stay with the Doctor, and Nardole says goodbye, taking the villagers to safety. Elsewhere, before escaping to their TARDIS, Missy betrays the Master to help the Doctor by stabbing him in the back, triggering the regeneration process. He shoots her in return, killing her. The Doctor fights off the Cybermen, but is shot by the now fully-converted Bill. He proceeds to blow up the whole floor, killing himself. Bill somehow survives, with Heather appearing before her. They kiss, and Heather reveals she changed Bill into her species so she could live on. The two take the Doctor back to his TARDIS, Bill using her species' healing powers to bring him back before she and Heather leave to see the universe together. The Doctor awakens as the regeneration process begins. He refuses, attempting to stop it, and exits the TARDIS onto an icy planet, where he is greeted by the First Doctor.

@tindogpodcast reviews from wiki 275a 11 "World Enough and Time" Rachel Talalay Steven Moffat 24 June 2017 TBD 85 In a snowspace, the Doctor stumbles from the TARDIS and regenerates. Earlier, the Doctor proposed to test Missy by having her answer a distress call. They arrive via TARDIS on a colony ship reversing away from a black hole. They are held at gunpoint by Jorj, who demands to know which of them is human, and Jorj shoots Bill. The Doctor, Missy, and Nardole learn that a few days ago, some of the crew had gone down to the ship's bowels but never returned. Jorj claims the ship was other empty, but the Doctor shows there's thousands of humans, the first crew descendants: due to time dilation, time moves much faster at the ship's bowels. Bill awakens in a hospital, having been fitted with a replacement heart. Razor, the hospital caretaker, explains that some of the patients are waiting to be "upgraded" to escape the ship's polluted air. Years later, they see footage of the Doctor coming down the lift, having only been a few minutes for him. The Doctor, Nardole and Missy arrive to determine the origin of the colony ship: Mondas. Razor approaches Missy and reveals himself to be her previous incarnation, formally known as the Master. The Doctor and Nardole find a Cyberman who reveals itself as Bill.
