Radio Free Skaro

- Description:
- Radio Free Skaro is possibly the most popular, most prolific and charmingly irreverent (but never irrelevant) Doctor Who podcast around. Since August 2006, hosts Warren (in Vancouver, BC) and Steven (in Edmonton, AB) have provided listeners with their brand of amusing Doctor Who praise and punishment. A year later, Chris (in Amherst, NS) was added to the team, and The Three Who Rule were born. Recommended by Doctor Who Magazine, Radio Free Skaro provides an entertaining and diverting listen for the diehard or casual Doctor Who fan. New episodes usually appear on Sundays, following a loose magazine format of the three hosts discussing the news and events of the past week in the worlds of Doctor Who, Torchwood, and the Sarah Jane Adventures. They have also recorded special commentary podcasts for classic series and new series episodes of Doctor Who along with interviews of some of the brightest of the Doctor Who luminaries. Radio Free Skaro is also the official podcast of Gallifrey One, the world's largest and longest-running annual Doctor Who convention.

Radio Free Skaro #983 - Spherical Hieroglyphics
Episode Duration: 0 days, 1 hours, 15 minutes and 42 secondsControversy stalks the BBC as the question is asked: did they censor Ncuti Gatwa’s comments on The Graham Norton Show about a possible third season of New New Doctor Who? And the answer is…likely not. What is much more probable is the Three Who Rule excoriating the current state of television while referring to a recent Deadline story on that same topic, but enough of these dour matters! There’s a new Gallifreyan translator that can turn your words into circles, an Adventures in Type and Space book on the way featuring the work of Sid Sutton, and part two of our Terry Nation Miniscope, where we delve into his work on “The Chase”, “Mission to the Unknown”, and “The Daleks’ Master Plan”! Episode Duration: 0 days, 1 hours, 11 minutes and 30 secondsWarren has returned from his European travails, and just in time as casting for The War Between the Land and the Sea (henceforth known as TWBTLATS) is announced to much fanfare, A Disney poobah nods approvingly at Doctor Who as an idea, Catherine Tate herself hosts the BBC Proms, and Blake’s 7 news takes the internet (well, us) by storm with an amazing box set on the way for the UK (and North America?). Radio Free Skaro #964 - Fowl and Fallibility
Episode Duration: 0 days, 1 hours, 31 minutes and 18 secondsIt’s Regency drama, gossip, and scandalous dances on this week’s Doctor Who adventure, “Rogue!” The Bridgerton fans are losing their minds at this episode, including one Ruby Sunday, but what did the Three Who Rule think of this theatrical and romantic undertaking? Plus we pay tribute to William Russell, Doctor Who’s original Man of Action and Knight of Jaffa, and we encourage you to listen to our own interview with Mr. Russell from 2012. Plus Big Finish celebrates 25 years, Tales of the TARDIS mystery, and this very podcast gets called out for both its numerous crimes and its place as one of the best Doctor Who podcasts! Will wonders never cease?

Radio Free Skaro #963 - White Mirror
Episode Duration: 0 days, 1 hours, 13 minutes and 4 secondsDoctor Who shows its range again with “Dot and Bubble,” an adventure that goes from the superficiality of social media all the way to some very real-world issues in what’s ostensibly a Doctor-lite episode but is in fact very heavy. Does it seem like we’re dancing around the content of the story? Well, we are! Tune in and listen to our takes, then find out about a new visual guide chronicling the adventures of Character Options dollies, a sneak peek at the first 15th Doctor comic, the further exploits of the Terry Nation Army, more Big Finish excitement including Christopher Eccelston’s final audio adventure (for now), and more! Don’t slide us!

Radio Free Skaro #962 - I Saw Her Standing There
Episode Duration: 0 days, 1 hours, 15 minutes and 5 secondsA very divisive episode of one Radio Free Skaro as the Three Who Rules review “73 Yards,” a parable of Welsh magic, loopy time conundrums and craven Prime Ministers (well, one at least).
