It’s back! After what seems like an eternity (but in reality, is actually just three months) Doctor Who is back on our tellyscreens.  Huzzah! Typically, it’s at this time of year that Trev goes walkabout so James and Michele are left to steer the campervan – but are joined by the fabulous Laura (no, not the ood one), a long-term supporter of the show and has has kinda assumed the role of ‘roving DWP reporter’ of late – she helped to cover the recent Big Finish Day (interviews will be forthcoming) and has attended the BFI screenings with Ian and James this year.

So what did this new DWP campervan-combo think of the series 7b opener, The Bells of St. John? Tune in, download and find out!  But don’t click.  Don’t even click.  Click, and you’re dead.

A big week here in the DWP Campervan here at the compound.

Trevor, James and Leeson wrap their heads around the epic new series episode from last Friday night – Remembrance of the Spume.  As we see Season 14 coming to a close the revelations are coming thick and fast, and this story is no exception!  Is there enough in this story to keep long term fans happy and new fans entertained?  Can the show recover from the “Mars Colony” incident?

Ian and Michele keep the Big Finish reviews coming, and take a look and listen to the latest adventure – Clink.

Onion Boy makes his triumphant return to the DWP airwaves after his enforced cyro-sleep and makes some interesting observations on the question that must not be answered…

On the eve of the broadcast of "The Bells of St. John's", naturally we couldn't resist not reviewing it. Instead, we go back in time to September of 2011, which broad us such classics as "The Girl Who Waited", "A Good Man Goes to War", and the topic of this episode, the overlooked and often forgotten "Night Terrors".

Plus there's gossip about the rumors circulating regarding the up and coming release of the JNT biography and the muckraking regarding Matt Smith's leaving the show. And feedback, don't forget the feedback.

On another night, we will continue to chat about the new series, but will still focus on reviews of older Doctor Who stories, so stay tuned in about a week's time when we will release a short discussion of the first two episodes aired for Series 7B, and a longer discussion of a certain Fourth Doctor story from 1980.

New Doctor Who! And given such an auspicious occasion, it was no surprise that the Three Who Rule yammered on length about "The Bells of Saint John," and then further prognosticated on the news that David Tennant and Billie Piper will in fact return for the 50th anniversary special. Debate on the proper levels of fanwankiness for the special,  speculation on the many hints and tidbits Moffat has seeded throughout his tenure leading up to November 23rd, 2013 and other wishes and dreams for the upcoming season were all grist for the fevered (and possibly insane) minds of the RFS crew. All this and various other tidbits of news, and more importantly, no stats. (Don't worry, stats will be back in full force next week).

Doctor Who is back! Might we also say…with a bang! That’s right, the first half of the seventh season was rather strange with a high production value, but strayed quite far from how we came to view Doctor Who. This March it’s all about Paul Magrs (pronounced “mars”, by the way).  That means we’re serving up a whopping dose of gin and tonics with The Scarlet Empress, the novel that introduced the world to Iris Wildthyme.  From the back cover:

Arriving on the almost impossibly ancient planet of Hyspero, a world where magic and danger walk hand in hand, the Doctor and Sam are caught up in a bizarre struggle for survival.

Hyspero has been ruled for thousands of years by the Scarlet Empresses, creatures of dangerous powers – powers that a member of the Doctor’s own race is keen to possess herself: the eccentric time traveller and philanderer known only as Iris Wildthyme.

As the real reason for Iris’s obsession becomes clear, the Doctor and Sam must embark on a perilous journey across deserts, mountains, forests and oceans.  Both friends and foes are found among spirts, djinns, alligator men and golden bears – but in a land where the magical is possible, is anything really as it seems?

A late result, 

Jago and Litefoot 5 : Gallifrey 5.

That result, there, meaning that Jago and Litefoot go through to the play-offs where they'll face either Dalek Empire or Cybermen. That match to be played on Wednesday evening... there.

And now on BBC1.....

And in the end, It is the most shattering experience of a young man's life when one morning he awakes and quite reasonably says to himself, "I will never play the Dane.
