And after that, the team looks at the crowd funded 1960's British pop culture inspired team up book, The Imperium. And promptly awkwardly start discussing the 2nd Doctor's sex life. With Erik back, we turn once again to a book penned by Gary Russell, author of the Virgin Missing Adventure The Scales of Injustice and the BBC Past Doctor Adventure Business Unusual. This month, it's the Virgin Missing Adventure Invasion of the Cat-People, featuring the Second Doctor, Ben, and Polly. From the back cover:

'Explode the buoys? But that will destroy the earth!' 'Oh dear, so it will. Pass on my apologies to the humans, won't you?'

Earth has been invade. Twice. Thousands of years ago by a race searching for a new power source. More recently by the galactic marauders known as the Cat-People, who intend to continue the work done by the earlier visitors, with devastating results.

The recently regenerated Doctor, along with companions Ben and Polly, teams up with a group of amateur ghost-hunters and a mysterious white witch on a journey that takes them from twentieth-century Cumbria to the Arabian deserts of folklore and Australia 40,000 years in the past. Can the Doctor stop the invaders and disarm the bombs left buried beneath the planet's surface - or have the ancient Aborigines of Australia sung the seeds of their own destruction?

As we begin Ambassadors of Death Part 4 - Liz is in Trouble, Josh, Andrew, Steven and Toby are telling stories about Derek Martin, an uncredited member of HAVOC. While Andrew shows his moral duty, regarding the man's behavior, we quickly move onto the commentary. Why the tin foil walls and colorful wires connected to the wall? So you learn a little about explosions in enclosed areas, quick cuts, and the wonderful facial bandage that the Doctor sports for a few scenes afterwards. While we examine whether Doctor Taltalian has a French accent on film, we discuss the backdrop of people taking the mickey out of Doctor Who. As we begin Ambassadors of Death Part 4 - Liz is in Trouble, Josh, Andrew, Steven and Toby are telling stories about Derek Martin, an uncredited member of HAVOC. While Andrew shows his moral duty, regarding the man's behavior, we quickly move onto the commentary. Why the tin foil walls and colorful wires connected to the wall? So you learn a little about explosions in enclosed areas, quick cuts, and the wonderful facial bandage that the Doctor sports for a few scenes afterwards. While we examine whether Doctor Taltalian has a French accent on film, we discuss the backdrop of people taking the mickey out of Doctor Who. In Episode 29: It Came From Uranus, the guys tackle the epic 1965 William Hartnell adventure The Daleks' Master Plan! Their conversation - like the story - careens from bleak to ridiculous as they discuss companion deaths, Bing Crosby dressed as a clown, ethnic stereotypes, jungle planets, Egyptians with rocks, tragic endings and the unavoidable problem with the planet Uranus.

After a banner week of...well, a new companion announcement and accompanying short, which counts for a lot in this, The Year of No Doctor Who, we're back to an absolutely desolate news list-ette with barely anything of consequence beyond an art show about Target Books. Which is admittedly pretty cool! And we've also put the Series 9 commentaries on the back burner, but only temporarily, because this week we have an interview with Peter Harness, writer of "The Zygon Invasion" and "The Zygon Inversion", and all around classy fella to boot!
