2MTL 421: Celebrating Capaldi (Time Dilation)
Two-minute Time LordYeah, this is worth breaking a hiatus again.
We've had just two years with him, and then a whole Wilderness Year without him (save an appearance on Class), and now we've found out that Series 10 and the following Christmas special will mark the end of Peter Capaldi's too-short run. Alyssa "@WhovianFeminism" Franke and I celebrate his time on the show, speculate on his final series, and prognosticate about what may follow.

Episode 41: Entropy Of Columbo - Doctor Who: Get Off My World!
Get Off My WorldIn Episode 41: Entropy Of Columbo, the boys listen to the latest audio adventures of the War Doctor, contemplate the Doctor’s mental health, study the second law of thermodynamics and its relation to the 1981 Fourth Doctor adventure Logopolis, and decide which is the ultimate regeneration story: Planet of The Spiders, Logopolis, or The Caves of Androzani.
Notes and, um, Apologies
-Joshua mistakenly refers to the Harry Potter character Mad Eye Moody as “Mad Dog.” Don’t tell his wife and daughter. They will never let him live it down.
-Speaking of mad dogs, Pat’s neighbor has a new pup and apparently it has a lot to say about Logopolis. Please forgive the occasional outburst of yapping toward the end of the podcast.

DIDDLY DUM PODCAST 070 - Surfeit of Beef
Diddly Dum PodcastThis week, The Five Faces of Delusion take a look at two stories from Jon Pertwee’s final season. With “Invasion of the Dinosaurs” we show how, if you look beyond the ropey models and the heavy “Eastenders” influences, this story is essentially Malcolm Hulke doing to the Communist Party of Great Britain what Robert Holmes did to the Inland Revenue with “The Sun Makers”. With “Planet of the Spiders” we draw a direct line from this story to the twin literary masterpieces “Flowers for Algernon” and “Mrs Frisby and the Rats of NIMH”.
Along the way, we look at how Rick James was knocked off the top spot he’d occupied since “The Mutants”. We question whether one’s attitude to the Third Doctor’s authoritarianism changes with the onset of fatherhood. We explain how The Whomobile was the Wonderbra of its day. And we poke our noses into Richard Franklin’s political career.
Mark’s daughter, Polly, was so inspired by “Invasion of the Dinosaurs” that she wants to watch another UNIT story next. Send us your recommendations for the best UNIT story for Mark to watch with her.

Who's He? Podcast #259 Trying to keep an eye on you
Who's He?Well, after the lads had finished recording, the news broke that Peter Capaldi announced that he was leaving the role of the Doctor. Despite being caught on the hop, this not entirely unexpected turn of events never the less shocked certain fans but also there was the earth shattering news that Sir John Hurt sadly passed away and we also lost Philip Bond.
But once the news is discussed, it's down to business with their review of the Target novelisation of The Curse of Peladon by Brian Hayles. This is story is held in high regard by both Phil and Paul and never more relevant than it has ever been, so it was with some trepidation that Paul approached this story as he didn't want to get caught out by an appearance of King Peladon's thigh boots!

Episode 227: The Play of Cos
The Sonic ToolboxCosplay, formerly known as costuming, has been a big part of our expressing our fandoms. Here we discuss all aspects (and even manage to rabbit chase WHILE staying on topic) of dressing up like our favorite characters.
Plus, we have Gally news. Lots of it. Not surprising considering we're less than 3 weeks away from the start of Gallifrey One: 28 Days.

Doctor Who - The High Council Episode 87, The Twin Dilemma Part 3
Doctor Who - The High CouncilWell, things are going further downhill, as Sean begins to talk of what makes Podcast Code (or Gold). We are not friendly to Nicola's acting here leading into Part 3, and despite this - we press on by attempting to speak about other topics vs the actual episode itself. Again, this is why The High Council is different every week, and perhaps the fact that everyone has been podcasting for approximately 4 hours by this time has effected the behavior. Oh, yeah - we also talk about Colin Baker's cat pins.

Metebelis 2 #27 - Cyber Ultra Violence
Doctor Who: The Metebelis 2Having recovered (barely) from the sexy-sexy 'Cyberlady' of last week, the Metebelis 2 journey back to the early days of the Cybermen to discuss the 1960s cyber-stories. Along the way, they praise the incidental stock music, congratulate Who monsters and their graphic designing minions, and speculate if dentistry is compatible with cyber technology. Intro-music is from "Power Drill" by Douglas Gamley, which was heard in "The Tenth Planet". Outro-music is the classic 1960 Cyberman theme, "Space Adventures part 2" by Martin Slavin. Also heard along the way is "Muzak" from "Time in Advance" by John Baker from "The Invasion".

Episode 153: The Power of Malcolm Krohll
Trust Your DoctorYou shouldn’t mess with the power of Malcolm, it might kill you.
This week we’re on the downslope for season 24 already. We’re already 3/4 of the way through the serial, although if they had done a 6 part serial we’d be done already. Wouldn’t that be great? It’s Delta and the Bannerman, written by Malcolm Kohll, and aired in November of 1987.
Show-notes:
04:36 Now only a $100 value! Sure must be the happiest place on earth for whoever’s raking in all this money.
12:00 OG version’s the best.
30:43 Wow, 2009 camcorder-vision. Still not the stupidest answer on this show sadly.

Even Better with Your Face
Flight Through Entirety: A Doctor Who PodcastThis week, Brendan, Nathan and Todd are back to review the Cybermen’s 1985 compilation album Attack of the Cybermen, in which the band revisit all their classic hits from the 1960s, including Another Planet (1966), Clever Clever Clever (1967), You Belong to Us (1967), Initiate Plan Three (1968) and perennial fan favourite It Has Been Agreed (1968). Not all of us appreciate the nostalgia.
Buy the story!
Attack of the Cybermen was released on DVD in 2009. (Amazon US) (Amazon UK)

Doctor Who: The Complete History is a series of beautifully produced hardback books chronicling the entire history of the programme, from its first beginnings to the present day.
Brendan mentions an adorable photo of TV’s Starbucks Dirk Benedict and Katee Sackoff drinking Starbucks at Starbucks. Katee Sackoff’s current Twitter profile picture is equally adorable.
Brendan would just like to take this opportunity to plug the book Hating to Love: Re-evaluating the Worst 52 Doctor Who Stories of All Time, in which he tries to redeem, excuse or explain seven somewhat unloved Doctor Who stories. The book was edited by JR Southall, of Blue Box Podcast fame.
