Primary Sources – August 1987
The Doctor Who ShowWelcome to the ninth episode of the podcast we’re dropping on our podcast feed every month in addition to The List Makers and our flagship Doctor Who Show episodes.
These are short podcasts where Rob sits down with a guest and reads letters – the primary sources of the title – about Doctor Who from the 80s and 90s, for the purpose of kick-starting a conversation. Vitally, the guest doesn’t know anything about the content of the letters before we record.
In this episode, Rob talks to Richard Smith from the Something Who podcast about the letters in DWM from August of 1987!
This is Doctor Who without a safety net. The conversations could go anywhere the guest wants them to go.
This is Primary Sources.

Whocast #444 – 3 x Briggs = 9. Doctor?

137: Pies & Pickpockets
Neither The Time Nor The SpaceDavid desperately tries to keep Matt on topic this week, but this week's review of "Thin Ice" is competing with England's first match in the Euros for his attention.
As ever, there's plenty of food chat, TV-that-isn't-Doctor-Who chat, and we even get a glimpse into Matt's naming habits for Warhammer miniatures.
Doctor Who theme by Ron Grainer, arranged by Alexander Erben.

Episode 227: Ravagers OR I've Heard that Gruff Guard Voice Somewhere Before
PodcasticaWe're back after a slight delay! This time around Taylor is joined by Michael Nixon (of The Game of Rassilon fame) to discuss Christopher Eccleston's return to the role of the Ninth Doctor (this time in audio form for Big Finish)! Despite being quite happy to have new 9th Doctor adventures, we're both left wanting a little bit more from what Ravagers offers. As always, we discuss what worked, what didn't, and where we've heard something like that gruff guard's voice before!

62. LISA BOWERMAN - The First Big Finish Hero
Doctor Who : The Sirens of AudioLisa Bowerman's first foray into the Doctor Who was in 1989 as Kara in the final story of the original television run. It was in 1998 however, that she took on one of the "wilderness years" most iconic characters for Big Finish, Professor Bernice Summerfield.
Originally created for the Virgin New Adventures range by Paul Cornell, Benny was the character Big Finish turned to when their first attempt to acquire an official Doctor Who license from the BBC.
It is our privilege to have Lisa with us for this edition of The Sirens of Audio to talk about taking on the role of Benny in those early days, how the character has lasted so long, and her other roles with Big Finish as actor and director for ranges such as The Companion Chronicles, The Early Years, The Lost Stories, Torchwood and Jago & Litefoot.
We also discuss some of the projects Lisa has been involved with outside Big Finish.
Thank you so much for a fascinating discussion Lisa!
Dive into the worlds of Bernice Summerfield, Jago & Litefoot and more by visiting www.bigfinish.com
