In this week’s show, we review the first two stories in Big Finish’s ‘Missy’ box set, A Spoonful of Mayhem by Roy Gill and Divorced, Beheaded, Regenerated by John Dorney. Hear what we thought of these two audio plays.

Plus, we have our reaction to the news that the series will return at the end of October. Spoilers: We’re excited.

And just like that, we're back to our 50th anniversary countdown of the Doctors, and it's the sixth Doctor's turn! Join Deb, Erika, Kat, and Liz as we discuss the delights (or lack thereof) of Colin Baker's reign as our favorite Time Lord. Or is the Doctor our favorite Time Lord, now that we've seen the Rani? That's right, we're talking about "The Mark of the Rani", which at least one of us thought was the most representative story of the sixth Doctor's run.

Is old Colin as bad as so many folks say he is? Is Peri? Does the Rani now own Deb thoroughly? Should we have covered "Timelash" instead? We don't actually agree on most of these things, but boy howdy do we have a good time talking about them!

It sounds like a checklist for things that appear in some of the greatest Fourth Doctor stories, but they all come together in The Bodysnatchers, the third Eighth Doctor Adventure published by BBC Books, way back in August 1997.

Kenny and Becca are joined by the author of The Bodysnatchers, Mark Morris, as they look back on the novel - including a dramatic reading of a short section of the book!

So here is a little prologue or intro made by me describing our upcoming Doctor Who podcast.  We plan on starting it off bi-weekly for now, then weekly when the show comes on.  There will be three of us, all with different views and opinions on the show we love. Hopefully you'll enjoy listening as much as we'll enjoy making it!

This week we do lots of talking about villains who don't. Join Deb, Erika, Lynne, and Tansy as we discuss what makes silent villains so creepy and effective. We also discover just how many Moffat-baddies are non-talkers (or mostly non-talkers). And do stick around for a particularly interesting tangent about gender roles and power dynamics in communication. This Verity! ep gets positively analytical! Almost scholarly! Almost.

And of course, let us know who your favorite quiet killers are--or weigh in on the deeper debate about communication in general. Or both!

The Time Lords have dirty work that needs to be done, so naturally they are going to turn to the Third Doctor to get the job done. Of course they aren't going to do anything such as ask him or Jo Grant if they want to end up on failing colony in the 25th century. Of course the Time Lords aren't that big on asking, and it turns out that among the setters, the locals and the miner, the Master is hatching his own plan to control a weapon of unimaginable power.
