A little while back, I noticed a flurry of activity in the ol' Twitter feed, campaigning for Paul McGann's return as the Eighth Doctor in the new series. If it could be done, should it? I think so, because there's one completely unique quality to the Eighth Doctor that Steven Moffat could exploit the heck out of. And that is….

Whoa! It's the fifth episode of The Cloister Room, a podcast about Doctor Who and other things. 

This week, the "Doctor Who" is the Tom Baker story "Genesis of the Daleks." The "Other Things" include The Sarah Jane Adventures and Caprica!

Next week, we'll be talking about "Caves of Androzani," featuring Peter Davison as the Fifth Doctor. The week after that we'll be talking about a Sixth Doctor story... of your choosing! Comment here on this post, or leave an @ reply for @TheCloisterRoom on Twitter telling us which Sixth Doctor story we should discuss. Stories not on DVD are fine! Not that it matters, since all of Colin's stories are out on DVD. But it's the principle that matters. Also note: Trial of a Time Lord counts as four stories, so you can't vote for it!

Honoring the wishes of that wonderful fellow from Chicago, Lloyd, who won our contest a couple weeks ago, we focus on one of the only six Second Doctor stories that exists in its entirety: "The Mind Robber."

Much can be said about this episode, but because (1) you may as well listen to it as long as you're reading this and (2) I'm just too damn hungry to type anything clever, we'll let you discover the delights of the magical land of make-believe all on your own.
