As Jamie joins the travellers, we talk about all things Scottish - English Gav's amazing accent, stoner kebabs, and Scottish Ale.

Second Doctor, Polly, Ben, and Jamie

Scotland, 1745. The Doctor. Ben and Polly arrive in Scotland after the battle of Culloden and meet a band of highlanders who are fleeing in defeat. Their laird is injured and the three offer to help tend his injuries. Polly and Kirsty McLaren, the laird's daughter, go to fetch some water but whilst they are gone the others are captured by redcoat troops.

Things become worse when the group is taken again - this time by the crooked solicitor Grey, who is part of the West Indian slave trade. The prisoners, Ben amongst them, are bundled on board the Annabelle where the wicked Captain Trask issues dire threats of drowning.

Meanwhile The Doctor is on dry land confusing all and sundry in a variety of disguises. However, his bumbling manner hides a sharp brain...

Come join us for the start of Patrick Troughton's run as The Second Doctor as we talk about French Daleks, Dalek Extermination Surveys, and Mathematical Kittens. Not sponsored by tedius link beer - Kona Fire Rock IPA.

    Second Doctor, Polly, and Ben

Before the astonished eyes of his companions Ben and Polly, the Doctor's whole body has apparently been transformed. Now they are confronted by a stranger who claims to be their old friend, but how can they know whether to trust him?

The TARDIS's arrival on the swamp planet of Vulcan brings its own problems; the Doctor is mistaken for an official come to solve the Earth colony's in-fighting, and soon he and his companions are embroiled in political wranglings. However, a far more serious threat lurks within the colony: The scientist Lesterson has discovered a crashed space capsule, within it a group of inert metallic creatures which the Doctor identifies as Daleks. Refusing to heed the Doctor's warnings, Lesterson supplies power to the Daleks and revives them. The awakened Daleks claim to be faithful servants of humanity, but could such a thing ever be possible? By covert means they seek an increasing level of energy, but for what? By the time the Doctor and his friends discover the Daleks' true plan for the colony, it looks as if it might already be too late to stop them...

Many eons ago, Earth's twin planet, Mondas, drifted away to the edge of space. Its inhabitants grew weak, so their scientists created spare parts for their bodies. Limbs and organs were slowly replaced by metal and plastic, and emotions were removed. The Cybermen were born. Now The Cybermen want Earth's power and resources for themselves. Only the Doctor offers humanity any hope against these silver giants. But is this one battle too many for the ailing time traveller?

When the TARDIS lands on a remote and wild stretch of the Cornish coast, its occupants little realise that they have arrived in the 17th century. The Doctor, Ben and Polly soon discover to their cost, however, that these are far from hospitable times. The local Squire is at the head of a plot to offload contraband, whilst a long-rumoured hoard of stolen treasure has drawn attention to the village church. Inadvertently stumbling upon this web of deception and double-crossing, the time travellers are rapidly propelled into danger.

In aid of The Hunger Project, we present to you a mini Xmas special episode covering the comic strip 'A Christmas Story' from 1965's TV Comic.

Cast Aid is a collective of podcasters helping to end world hunger through music (or something vaguely resembling it). Inspired by the efforts of Bob Geldoff and Midge Ure in the 1980's, we're creating a supergroup of podcasters creating alternate, geeky, and parody versions of classic Holiday tunes. All these tracks are available for free or donation. All proceeds will go to charity The Hunger Project, in the spirit of the original Band Aid's message.
