Drunken Time Travel

Drunken Time Travel
Description:
A three-weekly Podcast about Doctor Who. Starting from the very first story, each one is reviewed with the intention of using comedy whilst utilising alcohol as an aid. Due to the consumption of alcohol, there may be the occasional swear word. Please visit the website for previous episodes and the full feed as our iTunes feed limits us to approximately the last ten episodes.

In aid of The Hunger Project, we present to you a mini Xmas special episode covering the comic strip 'A Christmas Story' from 1965's TV Comic.

Cast Aid is a collective of podcasters helping to end world hunger through music (or something vaguely resembling it). Inspired by the efforts of Bob Geldoff and Midge Ure in the 1980's, we're creating a supergroup of podcasters creating alternate, geeky, and parody versions of classic Holiday tunes. All these tracks are available for free or donation. All proceeds will go to charity The Hunger Project, in the spirit of the original Band Aid's message.

This video takes SDO images and applies additional processing to enhance the structures visible. While there is no scientific value to this processing, it does result in a beautiful, new way of looking at the sun. The original frames are in the 171 Angstrom wavelength of extreme ultraviolet. This wavelength shows plasma in the solar atmosphere, called the corona, that is around 600,000 Kelvin. The loops represent plasma held in place by magnetic fields. They are concentrated in "active regions" where the magnetic fields are the strongest. These active regions usually appear in visible light as sunspots. The events in this video represent 24 hours of activity on September 25, 2011.

    First Doctor, Steven, and Dodo

Listen this week to find out if English Gav has been replaced by Robogav as we talk about Sci-Fi Conventions, killing Steven, and Mind Swapping.

When the TARDIS materialises on an alien planet, the Doctor insists that he and his companions have arrived in the far future. Steven and Dodo think otherwise, however, after they encounter a band of cave-dwelling primitives who are terrified of strangers. The travellers soon discover that the planet's population is divided into two castes, and that the professed idyll of the Elders - who inhabit a technologically advanced city - seems oddly dependent upon the unsophisticated savages.
