  • Who's He? Podcast #130 And you're gonna have to face the music

    29 September 2013 (6:30pm GMT)
Episode Duration: 51 minutes and 1 second

    Direct Podcast Download

In this weeks show Phil & Paul continue with their series 3 retrospective with their take on Family of Blood.  To be honest, expect more of the same as last week as this is real love in as the pair of them sing the praises of this story and everyone involved and tip their hats to possibly the greatest two part story since the show came back in 2005.  And Phil gets to use the word "beastly".

And in the news this week, the exciting announcement of extra tickets for this Novembers official convention and also the accouncement of the premier of An Adventure In Space And Time at the BFI which leads Phil & Paul to show their utter contempt for their listeners.  But in Omega's Tat Corner a piece of tat that is so unwarranted, unofficial and downright shameful gets chucked into the muckiest of Omega's corners.

  • Who's He? Podcast #129 Watching how the other half lives

    22 September 2013 (6:52pm GMT)
Episode Duration: 37 minutes and 29 seconds

    Direct Podcast Download

In this weeks episode Paul and Phil delve back into series 3 with a look at Human Nature, quite possibly one the best 45 minutes of Doctor Who committed to the small screen.  Yep, high praise indeed as the pair of them agree on a lot of things this week which causes them both to wax lyrical about this story and Phil gets ideas above his station and starts talking about lighting and camera angles.  Yes, Phil is in over his head!!

And in the news, it's mainly DVD stuff to talk about but in Omega's Tat Corner, there's an item of tat that gets Phil on his soap box again!!

  • Who's He? Podcast #128 In our little hideaway beneath the waves

    15 September 2013 (6:52pm GMT)
Episode Duration: 49 minutes and 7 seconds

    Direct Podcast Download

In this heavily edited edition of the Who's He? Podcast, Phil & Paul turn their attentions to the Target novelisation of Warriors of The Deep, that well known (for all the wrong reasons) 5th Doctor underwater adventure.  Does this book address the TV versions shortcomings or does the green paint from the Myrka reach the written page?  Tune in to find out!

And in the news this week, the BBC finally reveal their 50th Anniversary TV & radio scheduling to celebrate the show, the panels for the next 2 BFI events are also revealed which causes Phil and Paul to rub your noses in their good fortune and in Omega's Tat Corner, a piece of tat which makes the pair of them realise they are the darlings of every retirement home.

    8 September 2013 (6:30pm GMT)
Episode Duration: 36 minutes and 57 seconds

    Direct Podcast Download

Once again Phil and Paul return to the ongoing Destiny of The Doctor audio series with a look at the 9th Doctor story Night of The Whisper.  During the course of their discussion, Phil manages to offend the people of Manchester and also lose his marbles all at the same time!  It's definitely one to.....oh you know what I mean, erm....listen to!  Yes that's it.

And in the news this week, Matt Smith begins recording his final story, the original script for The Tenth Planet has been found and in Omega's Tat Corner....coaster news!!

  • Who's He? Podcast #125 I feel that ice is slowly melting

    1 September 2013 (6:30pm GMT)
Episode Duration: 59 minutes and 49 seconds

    Direct Podcast Download

In this episode Phil & Paul return to the world of Big Finish with a look at the 5th Doctor and Peri story Red Dawn.  What do they think of this 13 year old story that was not widely regarded by certain quarters of fandom?  You may be surprised at their reaction but it makes Phil find time to make comparisions with Prometheus and gets bogged down in continuity while Paul just shakes his head.

And in the news this week (which we should really call the "olds") they catch up on news items they have missed out on the last couple of weeks such as Christopher Ecclestones message for the 9th Doctor BFI event, some DVD news and a bumper edition of Omega's Tat Corner!!

    18 August 2013 (6:30pm GMT)
Episode Duration: 39 minutes and 9 seconds

    Direct Podcast Download

This week the lads take a trip back in time and crack on once again with their series 3 retrospective with a review of 42.  I am sorry to say however that Phil makes a true return to form in this episode as he does not like this one little bit.  So expect calm level headed discussion from Paul and hot headed, angry words that make no sense from Phil.

And in the news this week, the guests are announced for the BFI Doctor Who 50 showing of Bad Wolf and The Parting of The Ways, Doctor Who is nominated in a Radio Times poll for the nations most loved drama and two items of TARDIS news!

  • Who's He? Podcast #121 Fit a bolt to your bow and away we go

    11 August 2013 (6:30pm GMT)
Episode Duration: 36 minutes and 52 seconds

    Direct Podcast Download

This week, Paul and Phil take a devisive look at the latest in the Destiny Of The Doctor range in the form of an 8th Doctor story entitled Enemy Aliens.  Yes a story of alien invasion of two kinds leaves the pair of them approaching this story from different directions but which of them liked it and which of them didn't?  It might not be who you think!

And in the news this week, it's still Capaldi mania as fandom comes to terms with his casting as the 12th Doctor, audience figures on the TV spectacular to his announce his casting and in Omega's Tat Corner, some tat that doesn't even exist yet!

Oh and Paul? The rat wants to go out.

  • Who's He? Podcast #120 Time to eat all your words

    5 August 2013 (10:58am GMT)
Episode Duration: 36 minutes and 52 seconds

    Direct Podcast Download

It's finally happened! The world has been put out of it's misery and we finally know that the great Peter Capaldi has been cast as Matt Smiths successor in the TARDIS.  And of course Phil & Paul share their views on this casting news and also the manner in which it was done.  Zoe Ball?  Really??

And of course there is the usual reviewing nonsense with a look at the Target novelisation of the 2nd Doctor story, The Seeds of Death.  Though by their own admission, it's all inconsequential given the news this week!

  • Who's He? Podcast #119 Need a change a positive change

    28 July 2013 (8:05pm GMT)
Episode Duration: 57 minutes and 32 seconds

    Direct Podcast Download

And in the news this week, the controversy of the 50th trailer aired at San Diego Comic Con, more controversry over the series 7 release schedule, the possibility the Paul McGann may have filmed something for the 50th and in Omega's Tat Corner, Paul creates controversy by saying the name Cliff Richard and the word 'rim' in the same sentence.

  • Who's He? Podcast #117 Feel the forces from another world

    21 July 2013 (8:58pm GMT)
Episode Duration: 57 minutes and 48 seconds

    Direct Podcast Download

This week Phil and Paul return to the Destiny of The Doctor audio series with a review of the seventh Doctor story Shockwave.  In fact this has to be one of their shortest reviews they've ever done!  This usually means one of two things - they both hated it or they both loved it!

But what takes up all their time this week?  Two weeks worth of news and a chat about the Doctor Who Prom they went to last week that's what!  DVD blu-ray boxsets, BBC financial reports and comments made about the 50th Anniversary Special the Moff himself.  But not only that, there is a bumper edition of Omega's Tat Corner featuring cake and potato based tat!

  • Who's He? Podcast #115 These aren't the kind of people he can change

    7 July 2013 (6:30pm GMT)
Episode Duration: 1 hour, 29 minutes and 5 seconds

    Direct Podcast Download

This week the lads bring you their first audio commentary in 5 months and it's for Ghost Light!  This of course means the return of Tony to the podcasting gang, who brings his usual blend of facts, bewielderment and ignorance.  What I am trying to say is that he hasn't changed a bit!!  However, after a 5 month break from providing an audio commentary, Phil, Paul and Tony realise they may have made a mistake in selecting this story and begin to struggle heroically with it, while Tony uses the opportunity to ask the listeners questions simply because he can't be bothered to look up the answers himself.  And during the course of the commentary, it slowly dawns on Phil that he doesn't really like Ghost Light.  Heretic!!

And in the news this week, the tickets for the 50th Anniversary Convention finally go on sale, the BBC shelves any further plans for 3D projects after the 50th anniversary and in strange news of the week it is revealed that Michael Jackson and Bill Cosby were considered for the role of the Doctor in a 1980's proposed Hollywoodisation of the show.  Shamone!!

  • Who's He? Podcast #114 What they need's a damn good whacking

    30 June 2013 (6:30pm GMT)
Episode Duration: 34 minutes and 40 seconds

    Direct Podcast Download

This week, Phil and Paul cast their eye over Evolution of The Daleks in their ongoing retrospective of series 3 and it's business as usual!  Pointless Pigmen, bad American accents and probably the most convoluted and stupid plot to take over the universe the Daleks ever came up with!!  Perhaps now you'll realise just how much Phil and Paul suffer to keep you entertained!

And in the news this week, the director for the Christmas special is revealed, some exciting Big Finish and Philip Hinchcliffe news and in Omega's Tat Corner a rather expensive way to change the channel on your TV.

    Philip Hinchcliffe Lecture:

  • Who's He? Podcast #113 Big man, pig man, ha ha, charade you are

    23 June 2013 (6:30pm GMT)
Episode Duration: 42 minutes and 14 seconds

    Direct Podcast Download

After what seems like a lifetime, Phil and Paul finally return to their series 3 retrospective with Daleks In Manhattan.  Has time been kind to this story or is it still the big mess that they remembered?  Rest assured, both Paul and Phil give a reasoned critique but during the course of their dissection, Phil puts on a showgirl voice, Paul manages to insult Wales and quickly backtracks and the whole conversation degenerates into hardcore pornography.

And in the news this week, the saga of the recovered (or not recovered) missing episodes is discussed, Roath Lock will get Royal patronage, Matt Smiths thank you to cast, crew and fans and last and by no means least, Omega's Tat Corner makes it's triumphant return wherein you will hear the phrase "ring hanger".

  • Who's He? Podcast #112 Interview Special - Graeme Bentzen

    18 June 2013 (7:29am GMT)

In an occasional series of interviews to celebrate Doctor Who's half century, the Who's He? Podcast talk to various fans, bloggers and podcasters about their love of Doctor Who in the lead up to the 50th anniversary on November 23rd 2013.

    Website: http://www.thegallifreytimes.co.uk

  • Who's He? Podcast #111 Sent me off to a foreign land

    16 June 2013 (6:30pm GMT)
Episode Duration: 43 minutes and 47 seconds

    Direct Podcast Download

In this weeks episode, the attentions of Paul and Phil are once again focused on the AudioGo Destiny of The Doctor series with a look at the sixth Doctor story Trouble in Paradise.  What will they make of this story of Christopher Columbus and talking bullocks and will Phil ever recover from his little moment alone thinking about Peri?  But also during the course of this discussion, a history lesson on Christopher Columbus is given and a Peri impression is offered.

Also this week, they talk about their sojourn to the BFI to see The Two Doctors as part of the Doctor Who at 50 celebrations and how disappointed Eric Saward looked to be there.

But in the news, they discuss all the 12th Doctor rumours they missed on last weeks episode and call a 12th Doctor casting rumours amnesty on the podcast, rumours of recovered missing episodes to be released for the 50th, Big Finish's license for Doctor Who has been extended to 2016 and news of a TARDIS being put into Earths orbit (yes you did read that correctly!).

  • Who's He? Podcast #110 And the big wheel keep on turning

    9 June 2013 (6:30pm GMT)
Episode Duration: 48 minutes and 46 seconds

    Direct Podcast Download

This week, Paul and Phil review the 5th Doctor story from the AudioGo Destiny Of The Doctor series entitled Smoke and Mirrors.  In a tale featuring Houdini and the Master, all Phil can think about is how disappointed he was in Adric not receiving a terrible mauling at the claws of a big cat.  However despite this, Phil & Paul have a fairly good time listening to this story read by Janet Fielding.

And in a longer than usual news section this week, the main topic of conversation is of course about Matt Smith leaving the series after the Christmas special, the ridiculous rumours of who will be the 12th Doctor and the Who's He? Podcast gets political by looking at an official YouGov poll on Doctor Who which makes for terrifying reading.

  • Who's He? Podcast #109 Interview Special - Lisa Hazlegreaves

Episode Duration: 25 minutes and 10 seconds

    Direct Podcast Download

In this, the 1st interview in the series, Phil talks to Lisa Hazlegreaves, known to many of you as Its Mother Who, contributer to the Talking Who Podcast.

    Twitter: @ItsMotherWho

  • Who's He? Podcast #108 Only the echoes of my mind

    26 May 2013 (12:51pm GMT)
Episode Duration: 35 minutes and 32 seconds

    Direct Podcast Download

Now that the current series of Doctor Who has finished, Phil and Paul return to the Audio Go celebration of 50 years of Doctor Who with a look at the April release of Babblesphere, the 4th Doctors outing in the Desting of The Doctor range.  After Phil being disappointed with the 3rd Doctors story, this time round it's Paul's turn to show disappointment in this thinly veiled satire on social media.  However, Phil does manage to get in his impression of Lady Bracknell, so a little bit of culture is injected into proceedings.  Ok, that's stretching things, I'll admit!!

And in the news this week, more viewing figure stats, Doctor Who wins an award, Phil spits in the face of the Daily Mail and a small piece of DVD news concerning the Ice Warriors.

    All together now, "A HANDBAG?!?".

  • Who's He? Podcast #107 Beneath the strains of time

    19 May 2013 (4:54pm GMT)
Episode Duration: 57 minutes and 59 seconds

    Direct Podcast Download

This is it, the series finale of series 7b of Doctor Who, The Name of The Doctor and Phil & Paul aren't completely in agreement!  Paul struggles to find the story in this episode whilst Phil just likes it for what it is.  But one this is for sure though, they both agree that seeing past Doctors was marvelous and as for John Hurt?  Listen to find out!

And in the news this week, Steven Moffat thanks the fans for keeping their gobs shut after BBC America released the series 7b blu-ray boxset a week early, series 8 has been confrmed by the BBC, the sad passing of Doctor Who actors and crew during the week and in Omega's Tat Corner, some tat has been released that absolutely no-one was crying out for!!

  • Who's He? Podcast #106 A show with everything but Yul Brynner

    12 May 2013 (1:46pm GMT)
Episode Duration: 49 minutes and 39 seconds

    Direct Podcast Download

The lads get their teeth into Neil Gaimans highly anticipated story, Nightmare In Silver, that promised to make the Cybermen scary again.  Well, that is certainly a bold claim and not one that goes unchallenged!  Oh no, Phil and Paul have differing views on this weeks episode which leads to Phil having an internal struggle before the leprechaun on his shoulder tells him to burn stuff, while Paul does his best to change Phil's mind only to fail miserably.  Phil also takes a moment this week to think of Jeri Ryan as Seven of Nine.  A very long moment in fact.  There is also a lot of talk about fanwank that could lead to blindness and they also briefly talk about She Said, He Said, the epilogue (yes, epilogue!) to The Name of The Doctor.

And in this weeks news, in the absence of any overnight viewing figures for Nightmare In Silver they make some up instead, news on showings for the blu-ray editions of the Peter Cushing Dalek films and in 50th Anniversary news, a photo of Matt Smith that has set tongues wagging and John Hurt lets the cat out of the bag which Phil and Paul talk about.  Sort of.

  • Who's He? Podcast #105 The rusted chains of prison moons

    6 May 2013 (8:12pm GMT)
Episode Duration: 56 minutes and 32 seconds

    Direct Podcast Download

This week the lads turn their attention to the Mark Gatiss story The Crimson Horror, the latest in this series of Doctor Who.  What will they make of this Victorian romp in deepest, darkest Yorkshire with corpses in the canal and the return of the Paternoster Gang?  One thing is for sure though, Paul is Mister Grumpy this week which makes a nice change from Phil!

And in the news this week, a brief summing up of the Who's He? Podcast's trip to the BFI to see The Caves of Androzani, the UK's Doctor Who DVD roster for the remainder of the year, the return of Omega's Tat Corner and a chance for Phil to let rip on those who think fans are being short changed with their percieved lack of Doctor Who content for the 50th Anniversary.

  • #104 Trying to make some sense of it all

    28 April 2013 (8:51am GMT)
Episode Duration: 49 minutes and 49 seconds

    Direct Podcast Download

This week the lads turn their attention to the eagerly anticipated story Journey To The Centre Of The TARDIS.  After the last two weeks of enjoyment for Phil and Paul, I'm afraid to say this week is a bit of a let down. No, they are not best pleased with this trip inside Sexy and at times get quite animated at this fun but rather disappointing story.  But what did please them and what did annoy them?  Listen and find out to this episode that will most probably ostracise them from fandom!!

And in the news week, some DVD news including one DVD that nearly made it's way into Omega's Tat Corner, the next in the Destiny Of the Doctor range from AudioGo and of course the return of Omega's Tat Corner with a book that will delight Doctor Who geeks everywhere.

  • #103 Hearing them, seeing them

    21 April 2013 (5:21pm GMT)
Episode Duration: 48 minutes and 59 seconds

    Direct Podcast Download

This week Paul & Phil continue with their look at this series of Doctor Who by discussing the creepy and spooky Hide written by Neil Cross whilst cowering behind their cushions.  Was this an improvement on his previous script or was it a bit of a clunker?  Will the lads give another unanimous thumbs up to an episode of Doctor Who two weeks on the bounce or will they revert to type and give it the thumbs down?  Also listen to Paul & Phil travel back to the 1960's where a man could "provide" for a lady whilst wearing his finest tweed.

And in the news this week, they catch up on viewing stats (the most popular part of the show), DVD news on The Ice Warriors and a brief discussion on the release of the posters for the upcoming episodes of this series, including the title of the last episode which has made fandom explode.  Again.

After last weeks disappointing outing for the Doctor, Phil and a returning Paul turn their attentions to the latest episode The Rings of Akhaten.  Is this episode an improvement on last weeks or is it just another crushing disappointment?  Listen to find out if this podcast is just another hatred and bile filled episode or full of wonder and delight.  But during the course of this episode Phil makes up a new word and offers up his pen to Grandfather.  Paul looks on and shakes his head in bemusement.

Mind you, it wouldn't be the Who's He? Podcast if there wasn't a certain amount of negativity now would it?

And in the news this week, David Tennant and Billie Piper to return to Doctor Who for the 50th Anniversary and in an exclusive for the Who's He? Podcast we announce today of all days that Paul McGann will return for the 50th in a new idea for the show - degeneration!!  Also the BBC announces they are cancelling the sequels to the Doctor Who console game The Eternity Clock.

This week, Paul & Phil review the latest in the Destiny of The Doctor audio stories, Vengeance Of The Stones featuring the 3rd Doctor.  Does this story follow up on the brilliance of Shadow of Death or does it cause Phil and Paul to disagree for the first time in ages?  Listen to find out but be warned: Scottish stereotypes are discussed and the word "stones" is used with wanton abandon!

And in the news this week, the air time and a prologue (I refuse to call it a prequel!) for The Bells of Saint John is revealed to waiting fans, filming for the 50th Anniversary special has been pushed back, the tabloids start their typical rumours that Matt Smith is leaving, Peter Jackson will direct an episode of Doctor Who if Steven Moffat gives him a Dalek and in Omega's Tat Corner they return to a piece of tat that they discussed a few episodes back.  Blimey, that could've been explained better.  Why didn't I put "previously on Omega's Tat Corner" instead?  Really need to get a proof reader for this rubbish.

It's time for an audio commentary!!  This month, the lads have chosen a short story for your delectation in the form of Black Orchid.  During the course of this story, Phil, Paul & Tony stop to marvel at the cricketing prowess of Peter Davison and also gaze in wonder at the seemingly never ending appetite of the gluttonous Adric.
And in the news this week, The Caves of Androzani is the next to be shown at the BFI Doctor Who 50 season, Caroline Skinner to leave Doctor Who, DVD updates for Inferno Special Edition and the Mind of Evil and the next in the Destiny of The Doctor series.

And in the news this week, the announcement of an official convention to celebrate the 50th Anniversary and also a recap on the news they missed out on during the last couple of weeks including the Ice Warriors makeover for series 7, and the perils of press releases giving away major plotlines.

And in the news this week, there is plenty of update on the Mark Gatiss drama An Adventure in Space and Time, news of series 8 straight from the mouth of Steven Moffatt and in Omega's Tat Corner, Paul's lonely existence is called into question with his methods of seduction.

This one is a real struggle folks. The lads do their best to keep their spirits up in this shoddy story of run down Daleks, Stevie Wonder disco wigs and ill fitting Davros masks but try as they might, this one gets the better of them! Tony tries desperately to inject humour into the proceedings with his facts but these fall flat in the face of this dreadful story!

And in the news this week, the January releases from Big Finish, news of an actor who would like to return to Doctor Who and one actress who isn't and return to Omegas Tat Corner with some over priced glittery tat that wouldn't look out of place on QVC.
